Re: Pacers' David West: "Nobody's Afraid Of Us"
Of course no one is "afraid" of Indy. They haven't won anything. Not to say Miami doesn't respect Indy but afraid is silly. Miami was "afraid" when they were down 5 points with 20 seconds remaining? What did that do? Nothing. David West is trying to troll others into saying something for the bulletin board. Indy is a legit NBA title contender. Come playoffs they will be ready. So will all the great team and guess what...Afraid, Not afraid...it doesn't matter. The best team will win(Unless of course the officials step in for one side over the other, which is always a possibility).

Indiana would beat Charlotte in a series, but we aren't afraid, at all.
Especially the way Indiana is playing right now. Id rather play the Pacers than the Bulls.

Re: Pacers' David West: "Nobody's Afraid Of Us"
It seems to me like Indiana doesn't have that extra playoffs gear. They went all-out for most of the season to get the top record but now it looks like they're fizzling out and I worry if they have enough in the tank for the playoffs. Paul George started hot but I think it's clear to everyone that he just isn't a top-tier scorer who can carry a team night-in and night-out.

Gortat owned him that game, made him look like an idiot. Then Gortat, as if his play on the court wasn't enough went on to talk about him. Add that on top of Jefferson getting another all star snuff just pissed him off. Jefferson the past two months has been the best center in the league. That includes Dwight Howard, in my opinion.

This is my own sense as well. I am getting a "Thibs' Bulls who max out in the regular season but don't have an extra gear for the postseason" feel from Indiana right now.
That said, they can still beat Miami because they match up so well with them. And they are mostly young, so they should continue to improve over time. Additionally, they are still working to integrate Evan Turner into the flow and they have not unleashed Bynum yet.

Re: Pacers' David West: "Nobody's Afraid Of Us"
Pacers got stomped last night by the Rockets. What is the deal with the Pacers? I'm no Pacers fan but you want the post-season to be interesting. If they limp into the post-season playing the way they are playing right now they might not even make it to the Eastern Conference championship. Three losses in a row - George has been bad the last 2 of those 3 games, Hibbert's disappeared in games for long stretches, Turner has been the horrific inefficient shooter we all saw him to be in Philly,... what is up?

Healthy D-Wade, Bosh better 3 pt shooter, Beasley impact scorer off the bench, Oden on Hibbert = Heat in 6. Book it.

I mean, the Heat just lost two games in a row. It's not like they're doing that much better than Indy either.

Different types of losses. And the HEAT's 2 losses didn't come off of the back of a month or so of declined level of play like it has with Indy.
I mean, have you ever seen Tim Duncan show as much emotion during a regular season game as he did vs. the HEAT this week? That was no run of the mill loss. That was an extremely motivated Spurs team

That's what West said... He's saying that they can't rely on other teams backing down from them and that they need to get back to playing solid basketball.

To be honest, the Pacers didn't look very good during their recent 5-game winning streak, and that came against some cupcake teams (MIL x2; LAL; @BOS, UTH).
Miami isn't setting the world on fire, but they were 6-0 after the All Star break until they ran into the Texas buzz-saw of Houston and San Antonio.
To put it another way, Miami lost to Houston by 3 points. Indiana lost by 26 points.
It was reported, also, that several members of the Pacers team had a kind of informal team meeting in the locker room after the Rockets game last night.
http://sircharlesincharge.com/2014/03/0 ... m-meeting/
With their ankles still taped and their uniforms still on, there was an impromptu meeting taking place with hushed tones and grim faces. Sitting with his shoulder in ice at his locker, George Hill noticed and went over and slipped into the room. Then Roy Hibbert got up from his seat and stuck his head in.

The Pacers have been fizzling out towards the end of the season for the past few years now. Then we all lose faith in what the Pacers can do in the postseason, then they play way better in the post season.
Not saying that the bulls effect couldn't happen to the Pacers, but it hasn't been the trend.

As long as they make it to Miami, they can beat Miami, IMO. I'm kind of losing faith that they WILL beat Miami, but they are capable of beating them.
I still want to see how Bynum looks when he gets rolled out. If he can be solid, then Miami would have to deal with either Hibbert or Bynum on the court the whole game. That's a problem.

They made a couple of great runs tonight in Dallas, but they could not quite close the show. Dallas played with a lot of heart.
It will be interesting to see what is said after this game, IMO. That's 4 losses in a row and Indy is just 5-5 in their last 10 games.
