Lebron today faced the 2nd best defense in the NBA and Durant the 2nd worst defense.
Durant played better but both teams lost the games and for OKC and Durant a loss vs the worst team in the West wasn't in programm.
So the MVP Race is still damn close. And Lebron has always the adavantage at fg%.Even if he struggled the last 3 games he is still under 57%

These weak performances by LBJ and the Heat are giving KD a golden opportunity to put this race away. He isn't taking it thus far. Losing to the last place lakers was especially embarrassing.

Now Spurs are #1 in the West and if Indiana lose tonight at Dallas they will be #1 at the league.
So Durant now has to face the nightmare which Lebron has almost all season with the #1 spot in the Conference.

Niether LBJ or KD have made any considerable jumps in the race. LeBron has had a bad few games and KD has failed to capitalize on them, even though he's putting up great numbers, both teams are losing.

KD still in the lead(not by a whole lot though)

LeBron seemed to be on a rampage and got a 61 point game. Since then, he had one really bad game. Then he had good numbers in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks but his scoring has been really bad. Bad shooting and bad volume.

KD kept his stats despite shooting worse than usual, but he's losing games against every team... even the Lakers?

When it all looked like it was going to be a epic MVP it's now looking like a who's going to suck less until the end? Hope it changes for both of them, it's a lot more fun to seem them playing at their highest level.

KD with a slight lead right now, but really almost equal.

I agree he plays great against Top teams.
I wonder if Rockets can do a miracle(Is very tough but you never know) and take the #1 spot at West will Harden steal the MVP from LBJ and KD?
Let's see how he will compete against KD and LBJ next week at the road!

There's just no way both Durant and LeBron lose out on the MVP. Everyone else is just fighting for 3rd place.

But I thought Wade was the best SG in the NBA. So that must mean he's the third best player in the NBA.
All kidding aside, He is arguably the third best player. I would have Paul, Curry and harden in there.

I'd consider Griffin at 3rd.

No way Harden finishes ahead of Durant and James. Just having a little fun here. Dude has been flat out dominant and ridiculously CLUTCH though since the All Star break. Levels I don't even think he can possibly sustain.

Yeah not to mention Dwight's been putting up 20/11 in 34.9 minutes since the new year. I think they and maybe griffin and paul cancel each others votes out.

After a second game in a row with 0 free throws the league has decided that KD will win this year's MVP. After LeBron got fouled 4 times in a row without a call, it became obvious that its a wrap.

How is it slight? KD has a lead in literally every area you could have a lead in: stats, team wins, and the media narrative.

KD has a better W/S & W/S 48
KD has a better PER
KD has a better team Win %
KD has a better narrative

The only way he loses this without it being a robbery is if the basedgod decides it to be so.
