Josh Smith, Rondo Discuss One Day Playing Together

Post#1 » by Laimbeer » Mon Mar 10, 2014 12:19 pm

"The conversation comes up," Smith admitted. "We always tell each other what a surreal moment that would be, for us to connect again. With the different free agencies that we have [Rondo comes off the Boston books in 2015; Smith is locked in through 2017], it could be far-fetched, but it could be possible. I tend to be an optimist."

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Hopefully not here. Though I'd love Rondo here, not with Smith remaining. Rondo getting the ball to Dre and Monroe, not worrying about getting his shots but being a true look to pass point guard while playing great D would be perfect. I still have faith in KCP as well being a good 3&D shooting guard for us as well and the defense out of a Rondo-KCP backcourt could be lock-down, especially with Drummond in the paint.

Yeah but imagine a rondo-kcp-smith-Drummond defense team. That's even better. We're really close to dropping to the 8th spot and if that happens, our future looks brighter.

If they want to play together send Smith to boston for Green and Bass.
