Looked good for the first seven minutes against MEM, were up 17-12 when this sequence happened:
MKG called for charge on obvious Conley flop
Al beautiful spin move misses lay-in
MKG 5 sec violation on inbound
MKG flubs Hendo corner fade away shot clock expiring
MEM 21-17 CHA timeout, game over

Tonight against DEN let's hope for less LOLCat moments.

We can't lose tonight or everyone will go into a frenzy about Jefferson being a bad signing, Kemba a below average PG that's best fit to be a 6th man, MKG a bust, Biz a bust, Cody a bust, Neal is trash, Ridnour should retire, we're not making the playoffs, we should tank, and so and so on.

Gerald Henderson is considered a game-time decision tonight, but Chris Douglas-Roberts has filled in very nicely lately. CDR is averaging 13.6 PPG, 4.3 RPG + shooting 8-13 (61%) from behind-the-arc since sliding into the starting lineup for Hendo last Wednesday. CDR allows the team to play a little bit faster and also space the floor much more effectively. It will be very interesting to see how Clifford manages his minutes once Hendo does return.

Thoughts on the possibility of CDR starting with Henderson logging more minutes off the bench in a 6th man role?

it will be very interesting to see what clifford does regarding henderson, CDR, neal, tolliver and MKG once hendo is 100% healthy. you could make valid arguments for all 5 guys deserving playing time, either for past performance, logical fit with team, defense, offense etc... but obviously there is only playing time for 3-4 guys per night. you could also probably make valid arguments for 4 of the 5 not playing (lone exception being tolliver, imo - i can't fathom any wing rotation right now that shouldnt include tolliver - unless you moved tolliver to strictly power forward at the expense of zeller or biz getting minutes, but opens up a whole new set of arguments)

Gerald will make a great 6th man. I want it to happen. He doesn't fit with the starting unit and we need someone who can consistently score off the bench now that we traded Sessions for bench warmer talent.

even if hendo with the 2nd unit makes more sense, it would take big brass ones from clifford to bench hendo due to losing his spot during injury. i dont see that happening.

I agree that it would take a lot of brass for Clifford to bench the longest tenured remaining Bobcats player, but within that same vein it could be argued that he loss his starting spot due to fit considering style of play with the starting lineup as well as recent production. Henderson looked like a shell of himself throughout the month of February which in spite has probably been the best month of Bobcats basketball

I prefer offense off the bench and defense starting.

Making the playoffs is more important that a players ego.

Hendo should lead the 2nd unit in MPG and FGA's - that should keep him happy and work better for our chemistry.

preferred starters and rotation?

starters: kemba, CDR, MKG, mcbob, jefferson
bench: hendo, tolliver, zeller, biz, ridnour (by default, giving him a few more games before this spot goes to pargo)
as needed: neal, pargo, hamilton

CDR gives the starters another 3pt threat, more spacing, needs less touches, w/out sacrificing size or much defense (probably just a notch below hendo)
hendo gives second unit much needed post up threat, scoring, defense
neal moves out of the rotation except in situations where we need a spark.

but... i doubt it will happen. most likely, hendo goes back to starter, CDR goes back to 11th man getting no minutes.

we should get rid of Hendo as soon as possible, trade him for a 3rd round pick or something

I don't think Hendo would have much of a problem coming off the bench, he'd probably like being the focal point of the offese

Small sample size but the TS% and eFG% is telling. CDR offer the starting lineup some much needed spacing and he's solid defensively too. Time to make Hendo what he is, a good backup.

Exactly, and if you ask me, this would probably be the best time for Clifford to move on it. It would be much more difficult to ask Henderson to come off the bench for a unproven rookie that hasn't played a NBA game yet than to reciprocate his role into that of a 6th man now with reasoning of fit
