I never rated him either tbh, but Valdes has been outstanding for Barca this season.

Borussia Mönchengladbach has signed keeper Yann Sommer of FC Basel.
Sommer will be under contract till 2019 and replace Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Max Eberl also said that we were able to announce the signing because we reached an agreement with ter Stegens new club and that he'll join a club in another country.
It's going to be Barca, given that they're waiting on Victor Valdes to announce his new club, which is expected to be Manchester City. Valdes will wait till after their 2nd leg of the CL matchup to announce it.
Never really thought of Valdes as a top keeper, so I'm glad he's headed to City.
he swallowed everything we kicked at him paris 06' , top 3 saddest days of my life lol.

Re: 2013-14 German Bundesliga Discussion Thread
Aaron Hunt will finally leave Werder Bremen this summer for free. Glad for him. He wasted at least two years at Werder Bremen. He's too good to be on a team that consistently fights against relegation.
Leverkusen is said to be the favourite in the race for him. Tottenham & Gladbach interested as well.
Speaking of Leverkusen, Rudi Völler said they would like to do a big transfer in the summer. Sharp tongues would say they'll probably end up with retired giant Jan Koller.
Wolfsburg is interested in Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid. I wonder if they manage to dupe Arsene Wenger again on the transfer market.

3 years and 6 months jail for Hoeneß. That's hard.

Hoeneß sentenced to three-and-a-half years in jail.
Even though this is far from over, I'm sure that's it for him as Bayern president.

considering we are talking 27.2 million €, i think thats pretty fair. could've been 5years and 6 months. i like the message that the prosecution is trying to send. even if your name is hoeneß doesnt mean you can do whatever you like, there are laws to obey! will be interesting to see when he steps down as president and who will be his successor.
too many urkels on your team, that's why your wins low

Could have been even harder. When you look at what you get for some serious crimes in this country this is absolutely ridiculous.
Still, Hoeneß can only blame himself.

I find it hilarious a guy continuously lecturing everyone about finances is going to prison for tax evasion.
3.5 years sucks though, best of luck to him.

How did Hoeness make all that money in the first place?

Hoeneß is a big time player in the Bavarian sausage industry, and being manager for Germany's biggest club for 30 years does not hurt either. BTW, Hoeneß got what he asked for. Pretty sad / hilarious that the guy who fancied himself as morally superior to the rest of the planet is just a petty criminal.

The Bavarian sausage industry might be a bit understatement. 1985 he has founded HoWe Wurstwaren KG , which is selling mostly sausages to e.g. Aldi, McDonald, the Oktoberfest,… Annual revenue is somewhere between €45-55 million (2012). They are also selling to Belgium, England, France, Greece, Spain,…
But the money he was gambling with was mainly from a loan from Robert Louis-Dreyfus (at this time adidas CEO). He got DM(!)5 million and started gambling. Mostly forex and somehow he was able to generated more than €150 million with around 50.000 transactions (only between 2003 to 2009). But since 2008 luck has turned and he lost everything. He used a lot of leverage, which turned against him. Apparently there was one day where he lost €18 million.

Yeah. Bayern will crush them.
0 wins in 8 games for Leverkusen. Not only are they not winning but only once managed a draw, too.
Think I've never seen a worse start to the Rückrunde from a CL team.

He's a man of his word. He'd rather go to jail than pay millions in taxes to finance troubled Spanish clubs.

Fact is he refused to pay taxes on interest and money he made from a swiss account that he was trying to keep undisclosed. So him lecturing others about financial responsibility when his own affairs aren't in order is a little hypocritical; no matter what those taxes are used for, he's "responsible" for declaring/paying them.

Schalke with a victory in Augsburg despite being the weaker team. Putting even more pressure on Leverkusen.
