Far from the way that the team has been playing, but it's a win.

DJ vs. CP

Post#4 » by Ranma » Sun Mar 9, 2014 6:27 am

I was vacillating between Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan, but I'm disappointed with Paul for not stepping up sooner and more often. He settled things down--albeit momentarily--with a key make to end that Hawks run but he deferred too much to others when we needed him to be the alpha male tonight. Blake doubled his rebound totals in what seemed like the last minute of the 3rd quarter before finishing the game with 8 boards but he had 7 turnovers along with a stagnant 5 assists.

Ralph & Mike kept commenting on how DJ's presence in the post was a factor against the Hawks, so I voted for him mostly because he minimized his mistakes. He had no turnovers and a double-double in points and rebounds along with 2 steals and 1 key block. He almost split his boardwork evenly with 5 offensive rebounds to 7 defensive ones. He had the highest +/- rating among the Clippers' starters finishing tied with DeMarre Carroll with a +4 for 2nd overall behind both Willie Green and Paul Millsap's +5. He even went 1 for 2 from the charity stripe.

how the hell am i the only person to vote for blake so far? is it because of the two missed free throws or the attitude?

he absolutely was the key factor down the stretch. shoot, espn gives him the credit in their headline, and his own fans don't?

in short, YES.

in depth, effing blake blew the gift he was given with that NBA's star pampering call and missed both with the game on the line when his mate DJ was making 1 out of 2 when it counted the most down the stretch. IF and only IF blake was a role player or just a bit above average player playing his heart out to his limited talent like Derozan, i would say missing both free throws to ice the game is... acceptable. when it is a player who himself is trying, speaking, and playing to be the best player among his peers, unacceptable.

imo, BSPN who employees stoogies like Stephen A. Smith or Skip Brainless who fabricates news all by themselves means little to nothing to me regardless of whom they think was a key or what play was so damn crucial.

i just hold him accountable for what he is, a goddamn franchise player who is the first clipper drafted SUPERSTAR who will carry us to the promise land.
ehhhhh f it.
