It has been like that all the season and the last year also!
I will never stop do say it, it is ridiculous how a player that attack the basketball like LBJ does get almost 3FT attempts than a jump shooter as Durant!
Lebron should at least average 10 FTA and that would make him average 29p per game but but but.....

I think it's close between ChrisPaul, Harden and KLove.

It's a shame we can't see Love with good teammates. Kahn really screwed his chances in Minnesota.

How is it slight? KD has a lead in literally every area you could have a lead in: stats, team wins, and the media narrative.

KD has a better W/S & W/S 48
KD has a better PER
KD has a better team Win %
KD has a better narrative

The only way he loses this without it being a robbery is if the basedgod decides it to be so.

What in the hell are you talking about? You think KD has a narrative? What is it? The only narrative KD has is that Lebron HAS to have a rival of some sort, a player that the media has to threaten his position to be the number 1 player of all time. Thats it. Lebron is clear cut the MVP every year, however he is only human and the combination of voter fatigue and the fact that he's won back to back championships has perhaps slowed him down slightly.... but he still is producing like a mad man and can definitely win MVP this year and solidify himself as one of the best ever. Not much season left but it's definitely gonna be one hell of a ride.

Isn't the season Blake Griffin has better than all of them?

Chris Paul just missed too much and out of Harden, Love and Griffin, I think Blake plays the best defense.

But regarding the MVP, at this point I would be really surprised if KD doesn't get it, he deserves it imo.

Westbrook is better than harden, lets not forget.

By the way this thread is starting to go off on a tangent.

Based on play this year...Il rather build a franchise around kevin durant,(without westbrook) instead of lebron james...that helps me decided who mvp should be
Pay your beals....or its lights out!!!
Bron, Bosh, Wade is like Mike, Hakeem, barkley...3 top 5 picks from same draft

Of course he has the narrative. They lost Westbrook and he went absolutely crazy carrying his team. Meanwhile I'm pretty sure Lebron and the Heat are somewhere around .500 this year without Wade. How DOESN'T Durant have the narrative? He has every argument from stats to team record to narrative like I said.

I also think KD deserves it, but why is it that you can only be for or against LBJ/KD, why isn't it possible to say "yeah, both would deserve it but KD a little more"? :-?

Don't act like Wade hasn't missed a good amount of games, it's insane they are fighting for the top seed after going to the Finals 3 times in a row and the jump in PER, WS and the basic stats of KD isn't just based on a higher usage rate.

There are legit points for both sides to argue for winning the trophy and I wouldn't mind either one of them, although KD would be my favorite.

You must be crazy to say this.
What the hell happened to some people?Durant had a beast mode January and some started to overrated him as ****.
Lebron has by far better FG% than him he has bigger career high (61 pts and even before had 56) than the better scorer Durant (54 pts) and Lebron didn't shot so many FT like Durant.
And Lebron last year had the GOAT moment only player in NBA history to post 30+ points and shoot over 60% for six consecutive games.
And you would rather to built Franchise with Durant?Lol.
Durant starts to be very overrated.
I'm not saying that he doesn't deserve the MVP this year but Lebron can win it too.And Lebron every year is there. And even at Duran's best year Lebron don't leave him to breath. He is again there and he has big chance to win it again.Just sayin.....

I know he isn't going to win, but what to people think about Blake Griffin. I think he will be top 3 in MVP voting this year, and if the Clippers somehow get the #1 overall seed, he has a shot a winning it (though still pretty unlikely). Just curious, what you guys think?

I was thinking about this the other day. There's 4 candidates in my opinion who have a legit chance at #3 (excluding Paul George, he has a chance too): Paul, Griffin, Howard, and Harden.

They play on the same teams, so I think Griffin is gonna take votes from Paul and vice versa, and same for the Rockets pair.

I think Griffin has a leg up on the rest because of CP3's missed games and what he did in that time. But I really think it depends on who finishes 3rd in the West. If the Rockets, I can see either of the two Houston guys either getting it straight up or splitting votes and Griffin gets 3rd by default. If the Clips finish 3rd or higher, then I think he has the best case of any for 3rd.

If both teams disappoint in the final leg of the season and Indiana finishes first overall, PG may sneak in there.

Big game for OKC and KD. A good showing by KD and the Thunder will help him in this MVP race. A loss here would have far bigger implication than the MVP race. If Thunder lose tonight they would have only one less loss than Houston.

Why with durant? Because he need less talent around him to win a game...because he can finish at end of games better...Lebron played well 6 games last yr...congrats, if the Thunder wasn't blowing Brooklyn out kd 30pt streak would probably still be going on...

The same **** u saying about lebron was bein said about kobe...now look at the shift...durant is growing to a better player every season...and everyone knows now the only thing that hurts is game is westbrook every now and then...Westbrook and Durant is like Lebron and wade Iin 2010...except health is no issue...

Kevin Durant has scored more points than Field Goals Attempted in 173 consecutive games, the longest streak of it's kind since 1985-86... The guy hasn't taken a game off in almost 2 years... Saying you would personally start a franchise with him over LeBron doesn't make him overrated, there's legitimate reasoning behind it.

I believe any rational man would take a 25 year old over someone who is nearly 30. This isn't really a fair comparison at all

Yup 42 points and closed out well vs the same team the Heat couldn't beat a weak earlier.

Just feels like we are getting so close to the end of the season that here pretty soon, if not already, it's gonna be "too little, too late" for LeBron to do anything to get back on top for the MVP race.

LeBron could have an awful five games in a row, then "explode" for 45 against Philly and he'll be back in the media MVP race.

Congrats Durant on your long overdue MVP, you can inky lose to same man so many times. Awesome run this year by him. Bron wasn't far behind but Durants earned this. Now Bron go for that real award.

It's hysterically laughable that some youngsters crown Durant the MVP 20 games before the season ends when Durant's team lost from Lakers two days ago and Lebron yesterday had 10-15 fg% and  0 free throws for second straight game and their Idol KD shoot today 16 FT which is ridiculous for a shooter.

You kidding yourselves if you think that Durant has big advantage right now.I'm not sure even if he has an advantage.

Let alone that OKC is #2 at West right now.Just sayin...
