Playoff Seeding
I'm calling it now. We end up fourth with home court against the Nets or Chicago (probably the latter). And I think, with a healthy Nene, we have a 70% chance to take either team. How do you think we will end up in the seeding? Matched with whom? And how will we match-up?

Correction...7 seed, swept by MIami
As if Turd and Ernie didn't already have their excuses lined up...

Re: Playoff Seeding
The loss to the Bobcats really hurts.
I think missing the play-offs would be nearly impossible, the Knicks and Hawks(without Horford) are pretty bad. However I think the 7th seed is a real possibility and the Bobcats just got a game closer to passing the Wizards.

I think we'll stay ahead of Charlotte and finish with the 6th seed. It's going to be scary for a while though because we have a 4-game west coast trip followed by home games against Phoenix and Indy. When that stretch is over, we might be looking at the 7th seed. But then we finish the season with a cakewalk schedule and probably move up to the 6th seed.
2 of our last 9 games are against Charlotte, so we're going to control our destiny.

Re: Playoff Seeding
Heat just lost again last night to BRK (by 1) which has the best record in the EC since Jan 1.
So they (MIA) are far from a lock to pass IND for the #1 seed. BRK has definitely turned
it around and is still well within reach of the 3 seed themselves.
A week ago I might have predicted 4th with a chance of moving to 3rd.
I'll over-react to the last 2 games and say we finish 6th, still ahead of
ATL/CHA. Speaking of CHA, AlJeff will be a tough cover for MIA's doughnut
defense. They have a young energy guy with decent size/athleticism (MKG) to
guard LBJ. A scoring PG in Kimba. I'm sure MIA isn't 'worried' but they shouldn't be all that comfy
either. Now that I have jinxed CHA...(they probably won't win more than 1-2 games
against either IND/MIA)
How will we do? I'd say a toss up against any of TOR/CHI/BRK. If we
play well, we can win. If we don't, we won't. How's that for going out
on a limb? How will Wall play in the playoffs? How well will our 3 pt shooters
(TA/BB/Martell) shoot? Will Nene be back? All significant unknowns.

Re: Playoff Seeding
The Charlotte Bobcats will work out Ike Diogu, Mickell Gladness and Denzel Bowles on Thursday afternoon for a potential 10-day contract, league sources told RealGM.
Diogu and Gladness fit in the mold of frontcourt players with previous NBA experience, able to provide Charlotte with a veteran presence heading into a most likely postseason berth.
Even so, the Bobcats view Bowles – a 6-foot-10 center who averaged 26 points and nine rebounds in the Chinese Basketball Association this season – as a talented project. Bowles also has received interest from the Miami Heat, a league source told RealGM.
The first 10-day contract of Justin Hamilton will expire on Thursday, but he remains intriguing to the Bobcats, who have been without Brendan Haywood all season due to stress fracture in his left foot.
Diogu, a six-year NBA veteran most recently with the San Antonio Spurs in 2011-12, has averaged 16.7 points and 9.3 rebounds with the Bakersfield Jam of the D-League this season.
Gladness has averaged 8.4 points and 6.9 rebounds for the D-League’s Reno Bighorns. He played 26 games with the Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors two seasons ago.
The Cats tweaking their bench for the playoffs. The lower-seed race is going to be an interesting to watch.

Wow -- I guess you're not the guy to ask which way is North, huh? Wasn't it you who called Al Harrington "the best backup forward in the league" when we signed him?
We'll never get to #4, that's for sure -- we're going to have to work not to wind up #7. In which case, when Indiana/Miami beats us and goes on to win the title, or the East, or even lose in Eastern Finals, Ernie will be able to say "Well... look who we lost to; we still had a great season, and when we're healthy we can compete with anyone."
But it doesn't much matter; at #5, 6 or 7, we'll lose in 6 or less to whomever we play.
As to "with a healthy Nene" -- have you been watching? We are *better* w/o Nene! As we are better w/o Seraphin! The former is a shadow of the player he was; the latter is a shadow, period.

Re: Playoff Seeding
I'm not sure I'm ready to say we're BETTER without Nene. If we have to play a bullying
strong defensive but offensively more challenged team like IND, I think Nene would be helpful.
There are probably other teams where this is less true. This posted without actually looking
to see how offensively challenged IND actually is. I may well be overstating the case.
CHI rolls on with an impressive win over HOU. A win tonight and esp tomorrow and things
will be looking better assuming we don't completely collapse out west.
but back to Nene, it may be small sample size to explain the new found ability
to win without Nene when the previous W-L data was so clear in projecting we
would collapse without him. Having Gooden come on board and play modestly well
has helped that situation. We'll see how long that continues.

that cakewalk schedule part should scare you more than the 6 games the way this team plays against weak opponents.

I wouldn't be so quick to call out other people's mistakes. I've still haven't seen anyone pimp a scrub harder than you did Landry Fields 2 off-seasons ago. No matter how smart we think we are, we can still get it wrong a lot of the time. Especially when it comes to predicting the future.

When was the last time we lost to a weak opponent? The team has been handling business lately, and they seem to have turned the corner on not playing down to the competition. Now we need to figure out how to consistently play great against better opponents (and unfortunately that's typically where poor coaching and lack of preparation rears its head..)
I don't see us dropping past Charlotte, we have a joke schedule and some of these teams aren't even trying anymore. Andrew Wiggins is looking real good these days

I grow less and less confident that we can beat the Bulls with each passing game. Joakim Noah is playing at a space-jam level right now.
