No. What I'm saying is let's try something that will get the fans back behind this team. You say Ferry system works??This is what I mean by drinking the koolaid. What is your basis for saying that Ferry's system works? It looks like he has done what ever incoming GM does. Firesale.... Then start over with cheaper pieces while maintaining cap flexibility until getting that right piece.

How was our cap situation when he took over, how is it now? We couldnt sign anyone when he took over because of 1 of the worst contracts in history JJ. Then Marvin Williams. The previous admin couldnt DRAFT FOR ****. Are you ignoring the last 10 years of drafting? Our 2 big Draft GETS were INJURED AL HORFORD, and Whiny bitchy WORST 3 pt shooter potentially Josh Smith. WOW, MEGUSTA.JPG

Well, I've been a fan since before Fratello was coach... TRUE FAN INDEED... and what I have learned through several renditions of watching us try and fail is that it's better for everybody when you have a fanbase and what looks like a new plan.

Dude people didnt come to games when we had "stars". WTF are you thinking? The fans dont care because the team has never been more than mediocre, with talent and without it.
When BK came in, He traded Theo, Deke, and Robinson. Then he traded away JTerry. Lots of cap flexibility. He started Building from the draft while signing guys to short contracts (like Willis, Anderson, Walker, etc). Then when the time was finally right, he took his hook and went after Joe Johnson.

Howd that work out? Joe Johnson , WOW, BIG MOVE THERE. Worth every penny of 126 million. So happy we overpaid a a NON ALL STAR(when we signed him) a KOBE like contract

What did BK do that was different from what Ferry is doing now?
? Sorry Panda, You may be new to this or maybe you didn't become a Hawks fan until after we got Joe. Either way, I'm here telling you that this is the same ragedy playbook that was used by BK. To his credit BK knew enough about the league to know that the only way we could get a star is by drafting one. Unfortunately, BK had one of the worst warrooms in the history of the draft because he was the head of it. Ferry has done the same thing. Cut expensive players. Gained cap flexibility. And lined up some short term contracts.

are you a season ticket holder? Then shut the **** up. I AM, Im at EVERY GAME. So unless you are also ponying up the $5000 a year to support the team yourself and putting your ass in the same seats as mine, dont insinuate im some NEW NBA fan. Im a boston celtic fan first, but I support the hawks and show it with my wallet.

you are passing judgement on Danny Ferry over 1 draft! 1 DRAFT THAT WAS THE WEAKEST in 15 YEARS!!! BK WHIFFED on drafts that had CHRIS PAUL.

Ferry has gotten Mike Scott, i think thats worked out. John Jenkins, injuries, sucks. But We dont know ANYTHING about Muscala, Schroeder, Bebe because they have played 50 games or LESS to ZERO in the NBA. How can you pass judgement on guys we dont even know how they are who came from the WORST DRAFT IN THE LAST 15 years??? ARE YOU THAT SHORTSIGHTED?

If he WHIFFS on this draft, and this FA, then talk to me.

The problem... Ferry doesn't draft well. Ferry doesn't believe he needs high draft picks (no tanking). Because of the new CBA, Ferry will have a harder time than BK getting talent to leave their team and come to us. Not only will we have to overpay for a middler-star player, we might have to overpay for Middler players.

WRONG, youve seen 1 draft from him, 1 REAL draft and it was (YOU GUESSED IT) THE WORST DRAFT IN 15 YEARS.

My suggest.. Gain the fans interest. Find a superstar on the blocks and go all out. If it's Kevin Love... then Go all out for Kevin Love. etc... Because right now, having an empty gate... and a team that doesn't win is not going to do much for this franchise.

The fans dont care if you have talent, they didnt show up before.

I get it man, i want a superstar here too, but gutting a team to get KEVIN LOVE isnt going to make us BETTER. You do it through the draft, not FA. Unless you can pry once in a generation players, it DOESNT WORK.

Love would REALLY sign with Atlanta if you told him IM GUTTING EVERYTHING TO GET YOU? WHO THE F WOULD COME HERE for that?

You attract Superstars by CHANGING THE CULTURE. Ferry has been succesful doing that. PERIOD. This team sucks on talent, but is A+ on FIGHT and HEART. I would take this rag tag bunch of HIGH IQ players over the JJ, JOSH SMITH, HORFORD years where it was whine and bitch basketball.

So, in closing, unless you are sitting next to me at the games, dont preach about how you support the team. lastly, dont project your own feelings as what needs to happen. Just because YOU arent interested because theres no superstar, doesnt mean the rest of us arent.

If you think Signing people is going to get us out of our quagmire, then I have beachfront property on Fair St. Just for you. I will give credit... To date, Ferry has freed up about 40 Million Dollars. Unfortunately, going into this offseason, we will only have ~7 Million to spend. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.

Dude people didnt come to games when we had "stars". WTF are you thinking? The fans dont care because the team has never been more than mediocre, with talent and without it.

What Stars... real stars have we had? Let's see. There was Nique. That's about it. Joe Johnson was a star but not one that could gain national attention. We need that National attention kind of star. Even if it's an old Kobe or a 1 year Kevin Love. We need that guy who the National media is going to say... Hey... look at him.

So is this an admission that the Ferry Plan seems like the Knight plan or what? I told you where the failing in the Knight plan was... on top of that, it was not Knight who gave Joe 126 Million dollars.

Been there, done that... for several years. Got the T-Shirt, Hat, and memories of the Library feel and the organ play to prove it. However, just like I have found, loyalty to failure is still failure. i.e., when you go to the scary movie after having seen 1000 scary movies, are you still scared or do you start to predict what's going to happen? With the Hawks, my friend, I'm not new to this... and I'm not some guy that is sitting on the fringe. I'm right in the thick of it... and here's what I can tell you. There's nothing new about Ferry. As far as his draft picks. Mike Scott is Ok. His defense sucks badly and his BBIQ is questionable but he's OK. JJenkins sucked before the injury. Dennis is a head case. Bebe is over in Spain for a reason. Muscala is the great unknown. However, can you see any of them being better than Josh Smith? ( I said Josh because like them, he was also non-lottery). We did it with BK also. We had the hope with Boris Diaw, Josh Childress, Salim Stoudemire, Acie Law, Solomon Jones, Royal Ivey, even guys he tucked in Europe Syrgie Gladyr, Pape Sy, and Cenk Akyol. Again... None of this is NEW.

WRONG, youve seen 1 draft from him, 1 REAL draft and it was (YOU GUESSED IT) THE WORST DRAFT IN 15 YEARS.

You're suggesting that his time as GM of the Cavs is meaningless?

Haha. Changing the culture!!!! This is what you tell a fan base when you don't plan to get any superstars. Ask the Pacers what their Slogan was when Donnie Walsh came back? Moroway had set a great table with great draft picks: George, Leonard, Plumlee. However, when Walsh reappeared, he wanted that Blue Collar team again.
What you lookin' at? You all a bunch of ****' a-holes. You know why? You don't have the guts to be what you wanna be? You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your freakin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy."

Show me 1 move that Ferry should have done differently, PROVE it with conviction.

I dont see any other FAs or people drafted if rather have taken given our needs.

His GET was DMC, resigning Korver to a good deal, Millsap.

His A+ was jettisoning JJ and Marvin

His C was draft , but i give him a pass because there really wasnt much to get in this draft. He took a project 7 footer because we needed a big man, same with Muscala. Schroeder hasnt panned out, but he really wasnt supposed to this year. Mack has looked good.

Ill hold off until after this offseason to see where we are headed.

Ten years of mediocre draft picks may explain the present circumstances. How many of these guys have become stars? Superstars?

A lot of people feel like Atlanta is a "sizzle" but no "steak" kind of town and that may be true initially but apathy builds yet again once they've seen the same results when it comes to what matters, a championship. Just like with Nique, folks would have tuned out someone like Paul or McGrady too if all he could provide is 1st or 2nd round exits. A GM has to approach things with balance, he can't just go all in for a short term fix in this town unless it's going to clearly put the team in the championship conversation. Sell some tickets and jerseys today but if you aren't any closer to a ring tomorrow then it doesn't matter in the end.
