You missed the part where he is guaranteed $28 million.

Glad they are addressing special teams, though I can't help but think upgrading the kicker would of been the better way to do so (granted, I'm not sure what was available there)

Every move the eagles name isn't always the right one. The fact you start your post with "I think" is very telling. It's funny to hear that from eagles fans who feel every move, non move draft pick made is the right one. Stop

And you would be the moron to pay Byrd 9m for him to play half a season. Byrd is totally injury prown with foot problems. Like I said Byrd is no EdReed or Troy P. and he is far from BDawk. Byrd is not a game changer for this defense.

You got to figure they have a 2year window. When Manning is gone so will be the Broncos. Makes sense.

Even though it's been a quite start to FA it's probably the smart way. Build depth, make sure the bottom of the roster is strong and then hope to hit in the draft.

Find it funny how the media link us with the bigger name FA. If the Eagles were interested, the media wouldn't know IMO.

The draft is more important anyway. Fill holes with FA and draft the BPA. Good formula.

Foles to Sproles

Hopefully we go all out defense in the draft though. Whatever happened to all the Dion Jordan rumors btw?

The Sproles trade doesn't excite me too much. His production has declined the last couple of seasons and he'll be 31 next season. Also not a fan of giving up draft picks.

The Jordan rumour was debunked a few weeks ago. Eagles apparently called Miami but they said he was unavailable.

Sproles should serve as a viable backup to McCoy along with Polk. He will also help us on punt and kick returns which we need badly. Getting him means that Bryce Brown now becomes expendable. Fumbling issues aside, he is still a solid young back who should be able to bring back a pick that is higher than the one we got for Sproles. We might be able to get a 4th or 3rd rounder for him if we are lucky. Also there have been rumors of the Eagles possibly trading Desean for more picks but IDK how true it is.

sproles has almost no effect on brown. sproles isnt an every down back

if we trade him we arent getting a pick higher than a 6 and desean isnt being traded

He's a solid back up and is good on special teams as a kick and punt returner. Since Chip wants to keep Polk too, it means Brown is likely the odd man out, so yeah.

Barring injury, Brown will hardly get any touches on game day. In addition, he isn't a good complement to McCoy like Polk is. Also, only 46 guys are activated on game day, having 4 active RBs is a waste.

Brown should be traded for a 5th rounder at least.

Curry and Graham should be shopped to 4/3 style defensive teams as well.
