Mainly because the East is so bad the difference between the 8th and the 9th is 5 spots and a few ping pong balls which represent your team at the lotto. I don't think we will though, it's unreal how bad the east is below us.

I can't decide on what's the best for the team.
If Al could come back, it would be a different thing, but as long as we can get our full roster again, and considering we have a chance at getting the 8th worst spot and a chance at the lottery, in a very good draft,... I started some weeks ago to think that it could be the best thing for team on the long term.

Writings been on the wall for awhile for Lou. Hes not producing, but, i wouldnt bail on him yet because most people struggle off an ACL injury.

His trade value has to be LOW , his contract is not terrible IIRC.

I dont believe his trade value was that high to begin with. Pint size scoring guards are a dime a dozen and can be found on the waiver wire or in the D-League. After this season he has 1 more year so I think his main value right now is being used as a trade filler.

Btw I dont think his benching has anything to do with his offense. Even when he clearly was struggled on offense he still played heavy mins. Its his defense. Playing him nearly 30 mins a game almost exclusively at SG puts us at a big disadvantage on defense.

Since the all star break we are tied with the lakers for the worst defensive rating in the league http://stats.nba.com/leagueTeamGeneral.html?MeasureType=Advanced&PerMode=Totals&sortField=DEF_RATING&sortOrder=ASC&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&pageNo=1&rowsPerPage=30&filters=&DateFrom=02%2F16%2F2014

I remember bud's experiment when he tried to play lou exclusively at back up PG. I think this was to hide him defensively against bigger guards. Obviously this experiment didnt last more than a few games and failed horribly.

Also

Is it the injury or is it the system? Regardless of why, the fact remains that the Hawks are a worse team with Williams on the floor. Since the beginning of February, Atlanta has played 14 games. In those 14 games, Williams has had a negative plus-minus rating in 13 of the 14. His last three games he has had a plus-minus rating of -14, -22 and -10 respectively.
