Not sure of the details yet, hope this is for around $4M per.

EDIT: Didn't see the other discussion on this. I think it is worth a thread of it's own, but if not feel free to lock it up.

The level of effort Raji put out in a contract year was just pitiful. Why he ever turned down that $8 million per year contract the Packers offered him earlier this year is beyond me. I guess they're going to be moving him back to nose tackle which is where he should've been all along. Hopefully that and a higher level of effort next year will equal a more productive season for him next year. I bet he's really kicking himself for turning down the Packers previous offer. I bet he ends up firing his agent...

Apparently it is 1 year, $4M. If that is the case, this is a good move.

If we move Raji back to nose and draft Hageman, I'd be a happy camper.

Perry -- Jones or Daniels -- Raji -- Hageman -- Clay

Has the potential to be quite good, to be honest.

Hageman is definitely my top choice if available. He'll be perfect at SSDE. They'll have a nice rotation if Jones bulks up and Worthy gains his lost weight back. Dude lost weight before and after his injury and just wasn't the same as in college.

I don't get why we ever moved him from NT. I'd assume the thinking was that he's more agile than Pickett so having him on an edge made more sense. I'd rather put the guy with more playmaking ability in his best spot to make plays. I think pretty clearly for Raji, that's inside.

I'd still draft a NT with 3rd or 4th to rotate this year and replace raji next year when he bolts

I would love to add Justin Ellis or DeAndre Coleman in the mid to late rounds. Nice NT potential.

yep. I wonder the same thing. Maybe it was for Pickett's sake, like it was tough for him to play the outside? Or they were worried about Raji's motor at NT?

yep. Maybe Boyd can play NT too, but it would be nice to have more depth there, in case of injury.

Also, 2015 DL at this point:
Jones
Boyd
Peppers
Daniels (pending free agent)
Worthy (pending free agent)

--Worthy, unless he really shows something this year and next, is looking like a back-up at best going forward.

--Daniels will be hard to re-sign after 2015; he'll probably get a huge deal from a 4-3 team to be a Randle/Sapp type of guy inside.

--Raji? Peppers?

They still need to draft some DL between this year and next year's draft.

I want Raji to become the player he was when he first came aboard. I would love for him to earn a big extension from the Packers. He has to be regretting not taking the 8M/yr that he got offered. Ted has to be so glad that he tore that extension offer up.

Peppers will be a hybrid player who I'm guessing will spend more of his time at OLB than DE in the 30 front. I think we'll run a 40 front more than we he have in years this year though.
