Hopefully tfc drops serious coinage for kaka, win win for me. Give my Milan some money and I can root for him here.

Sadly it's not possible within the MLS salary cap.

But maybe as MLS grows these signings will happen more and more often.

MLSE is setting the bar pretty high and it's only a matter of time until the rest of the league catches up. As a matter of fact, I wonder if these signings have increased to overall value of league franchise fees and net worths?

I just hope all the guys from the Raptors forum stay all season and make this a very active thread.

Nice to have a place to talk TFC.

Diehard Raps fan, but yeah, this team has definitely piqued my interest and I'll be staying all season. Trying to learn more about the game so reading this thread helps a great deal.

Yes, it's over the top but Leiweke has been nothing short of a miracle for TO sports fans. Somebody said it in a recent raptors thread, but too bad Leiweke can't take over the Jays as well -- I know it likely won't happen (Rogers/Bell) but someone, somehow needs to let TL loose in the SkyDome.

Lots of press in the UK which is good for both MLS and TFC consider the EPL is the best league in the world.

Here's the origins of the word "soccer", ENJOY!

Yeah, sadly that will never happen as Rogers will never let go of half of the Blue Jays

Though if MLSE buys the Argos it would make sense for all the sports franchises to be owned together, instead of the Jays being left out on it's own. Still, it will never happen.

Great that you have taken an interest in MLS soccer, and Toronto FC.

TSN has a lot of games this season so you'll have plenty to watch from Toronto FC, Vancouver and Montreal.

The Canadian Championship starts soon too, those games will be on Sportsnet.

I definitely think it has increased values right across MLS, and it's made other teams step up to try and get better. With the next CBA we'll likely see another DP added for each team with the salary cap going up too.

All good things for the leagues future.

Jermain is going to be awesome in the MLS. He was killing it against similar (probably worse in some cases) competition in his during Europa league qualifying.

Is it just me and my dad, but we through Jackson was terrible on the ball? Touch was either too heavy or nowhere near professional level. Yes, he tracked back well and provides TFC with a speedy winger but his technique and on the ball movement was so terrible it negates his speed. The goal Seattle scored was as a result to his inability to check his surroundings and opponent positioning, hold off a challenge and set the ball at his feet.

I also hope Gilberto is the target man TFC has advertised him to be, that would be the perfect scenario for defoe. Almost like a Negredo/Aguero combo or spurs talk Ade/Defoe combo

Yup, noticed that right away.

His first touch was awful, but hopefully that comes down to playing on turf. We'll see this weekend if he can improve on his dreadful performance.

Great stuff considering we have hardly played together yet as a whole team. Defoe and lads are only going to get better.

You guys have a nice team put together, had no idea Cesar was your keeper. Defoe is perfect for MLS btw. He doesn't rely on others for him to score and his main knock is that he tends to 'go rambo' and fire/maneuver without conscience when at the 18.

With the talent level being lower and him integrating into a new team, that skillset sounds like a great match. In stark contrast to someone like Dempsey, who does have a conscience and is more of a gritty grind-it-out player. Plus, he's a great dude. Might actually get a Defoe Toronto jersey.

If the winning continues that number will just grow and grow.

Most Toronto people are still more interested in soccer overseas, but give them a local club to cheer for and they will quickly jump on the bandwagon.

Cesar may only stay until the World Cup, but we are doing everything possible to keep him.

Going to my first game ever vs Colorado on Apr 12th.

223 in the upper bowl but midfield and the city view. Can't wait.
