They're possibilities, but the picks don't go out until they've completed one year with their new teams, so they'd be for NEXT off-season.

So while it's nice to feel dignified if guys underperform after you let them walk (rather than overpay to keep them); the better they play on their new team, the better the potential pick.

We'll get at least 3 picks from Ginn, Captain, and Mitchell. All three figure to play big roles with the contracts they got. Probably 1 5th, 1 6th, and 1 7th for Ginn unless he plays a lot of WR

Mitchell will do big things in Pittsburg, but I don't see Captain fairing well in Minnisota, and Ginn will fade into oblivion as well.

I would love to see us sign Britt, Alexander, and CB Wilson to 1 year "prove it" deals.

regarding mitchell - i think i saw something that said you cant get a compensatory pick for a player signed on a one year deal who left after - like mitchell. is that true?

cleary i dont follow the NFL salary cap and draft like i follow the NBA. NFL salary stuff is nuts. i only really pay attention to NFL in august to feb. i dont keep up with offseason stuff much.

NFL is 3rd on my list of sports i follow behind NBA and chelsea soccer. its bad enough with i tell most people i like NBA more than NFL. can you imagine the looks i get when i tell people i am a bigger chelsea fan than i am panthers fan and i figure i am still a bigger panthers fan that 90% of the people i know. to be clear, i have never missed a panthers game since their inception. i play in 5 fantasy leagues, 4 of which are very serious $100-200 entry fee type leagues - one redraft (since 1996), one keeper (since 2004), two dynasty (2005, 2011) and then usually a free yahoo work league. but, still NFL is 3rd. blasphemy.

A team is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks if it is determined that they lost more or better players than they were able to acquire during the previous year's free agency period. The number of picks a team receives equals the net loss of compensatory free agents (maximum of four).

Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula that was developed by the NFL Management Council. Not every free agent lost or signed by a team is covered by this formula.

LaFell's a Patriot.

I just have to laugh at this point.

EDIT: For the record I'm not that upset with this loss, nor am I saying we should've matched (he got as much as Steve!), but it's just funny how we've now lost the only four WRs who caught a pass last year... but we kept Shula for "continuity."

overpaid Patriot at that 11mill over 3 years

new plan to get WR's

1-Sign James Jones and Kenny Britt to be #1 and #2 WR's
2-Draft 2-3 WR's (including 1st round pick)
3-Convert Brandon Williams to WR (TE currently)

Definitely needs to be an offensive draft... we've now lost 4 receivers and 4 linemen in the off-season.

Sidney Rice is also available, he's underwhelmed since leaving the Vikings but he's younger than Jones. I also feel Jones' stats are inflated due to playing with Rodgers.

Everyone is like don't panic don't panic they have a plan...it's no way they have a plan to be good next season. The FA class is paper thin right now. Even if you draft a few WRs you can't expect them to start.

Anyone watch the Requiem for the Big East 30 for 30? Interesting watch, really made me wish I was around to watch college basketball in the 80's.

i missed it. was watching walking dead. i'll DVR it this week for sure.

80s and early 90s college ball was the peak. of course i am biased since that was the era of college hoops i grew up watching as a kid. i remember my first memories of college basketball were the UNC vs indiana championship game in 1981 - when i was 8. for some reason, i thought al wood was amazing. it was all ACC and big east back then. ACC had UNC, duke, NC state and virginia who were usually great. big east had georgetown, st johns and then sometimes villanova, sometimes providence, sometimes syracuse.

think of all the great players that came out of the big east in the 80s - patrick ewing, chris mullen, mark jackson, reggie williams, sleepy floyd, ed pinkney, david wingate, bill wennington, walter berry (wikipedia if you arent familiar with his story), otis thorpe, cliff robinson, pearl washington, sherman douglas, rony seikaly (if you were a hornets fan, you hated him), danny schayes, michael adams, john bagley (you thought ray felton was fat?), charles smith, jerome lane (broke a few backboards).

Is it just me or does it seem like our team has the best Chemistry in the league? I'm lovin' how Kemba says my family as the quote for the picture.

That episode was the best of the season..very dark just how I like it. That same thing happened in the comic book with different characters.

I guess some of you might want to know viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1310340 Warren Buffett is giving away 1 Billion bucks for whoever completes a perfect NCAA Tourney bracket

I don't even know what does perfect bracket mean, but apparently I lack the right citizenship to be eligible anyway, but some of you might give it a shot.
