Is he really doing that? Doesn't seem like something Buffet would do.

Ok but just to let you know, some mods actually have a tool that will allow us to put any number we want into the 'And1' field.

But he is. Buffett is basically offering to pay that $1 billion out of the pockets of his own company (Herkshire Hathaway) for anyone that can guess the entire bracket correctly. Why would he? Cause the chances of winning this even for someone that is very familiar with NCAA basketball (i.e. stat heads, NCAA lifers, etc.) is being estimated at about 1 in 128 billion. Again...the chances of someone winning the Powerball lottery is approximately 1 in 175 million. So that means the chances of some extremely experienced in the NCAA and teams, their strengths, weaknesses, trends, matchups, lighting in the arena relative to performance, etc, etc, etc. Is about 750 times LESS likely that that person winning the Powerball lottery. For the normal joe schmo that figures, "I don't know NCAA from NAACP from a hole in the wall, but a billion bucks? heck, I'll guess" the odds of guessing the brackets correctly is in the 1 in 10 pentillion (or 1 in 10 billion billion) range...or basically 7.5 million times less likely than winning the Powerball lottery.

He gives a lot to charity, this seems like a publicity stunt and not something he would do. It doesn't go with his character.

I actually think that this is him just being a fan. Buffett is a huge huge HUGE fan of the Creighton Jays (Creighton is going to the tournament with it's highest ranking ever and having one of their best seasons in their history). He's oddball enough to do something like this. Of course, I'm sure he knows that no one is realistically going to win but still it's a great way to draw attention to the tournament. And in all likelihood he's probably getting some sort of split or deal from Yahoo for all the traffic that this is going to drive their way (not to mention that contact information specific to the demographic) but even then..."don't hate the player, hate the game?" :)

If you have a grandma with a cell phone that never hears their phone ring to answer...give them her cell #(while you're next to her of course since she won't hear you calling her either to ask for the code) and then get the code from her phone.

 Sorry. There is no way around it. You have to provide some number that you can then access the code from. You could possibly use Google Voice to create a "front" number if you don't want someone to see your real number? That's about it. I have that with a business number of my that I created via Google voice that actually then redirects to my personal cell phone number. The 2 numbers are completely different, even different area codes.

Yeah I'm in Carmelo's Bracket as well. I've got relatively no Cinderella's. None that make it past the Sweet 16 and the only one I have getting to the Sweet 16 above ranking isn't really a Cinderella per se. Have Florida in the Finals with Wichita State.

I got Florida over Louisville for the title, no real "cinderellas" but I got 2, 15-2 upsets in Harvard and NC State (you know they always hit.) My bracket is called: "NYKinMIA from RealGM's Picks," so hopefully you'll see me near the leaderboard. :D

Good luck everyone!

Have you already filled out your bracket on Yahoo? If not, I think it's too late. Deadline was either last night around 12 or noon today EST.

I know you still get a lot of money if you get a lot of picks right. Say I get 62 out of 63 correct, how much would I earn?

Yeah I filled it out yesterday casually. I was trying to change it today but I guess it's locked in already
