Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
aaaaand MLS is eliminated from CONCACAF Champions League. Very disappointing.
San Jose was soooo close, but Soccer is a cruel, cruel sport.
I can't imagine anyone but Cruz Azul winning this, but if theres any team who knows how to lose a final, its Cruz Azul for sure.

I can't believe how close SJ came to pulling that off, given what they had available due to injuries/suspensions. Seeing that lineup before the game, I thought Toluca was at least going to put up 5.

MLS just has no luck when it comes to CCL.

**** you guys are getting Forlan too!? Honestly, I'm thinking of catching Toronto games moving forward. Them and the Quakes have super interesting squads.

Didn't he just sign recently in Japan?
I haven't heard anything about TFC getting him since last year.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
what a fun weekend! I didnt get to see much of the other games because of an early kick off and then a Jazz game after, but our home opener was great! The result wasn't. We really fell apart after we lost Plata and looked like we had no idea how to play the attack. I was disappointed, i thought Olmes Garcia would bring some more energy than he did. Oh well, onto the next one. TFC @ Rio Tinto Stadium
I'm pretty excited to see the big three of Defoe, Bradley and Cesar. Hopefully our injury bug dies down sometime between now and then.
Also, Dallas at the top of the league right now. I'm not falling for that one again. Last year they spent a third of the season as Supporter Shield leaders only to fall out of the playoffs towards the end.

The 7th of November tifo was great. The first half was fun. The second half was mostly dreadful soccer.
You're spot on: without Plata they looked toothless. Would've been nice to have a few more subs available.

Was looking forward to seeing Plata play against TFC, while at the same time not exactly looking forward to it.
Can't wait for the game next Saturday.

This has been a rough start to the season for the Timbers. 3 games in and only 2 points to show for it...both at home. After how much we improved last season, I'm disappointed. The middle of the back line still looks pretty weak but Gaston Fernandez looks like a somewhat reliable goal scorer.

How has Urruti looked so far this season?

He's largely been ineffective. Not really noticeable in games unless he's missing shots. Team chemistry just seems off this year, so it's not just him that's struggling either.

Portland in for another tough game this weekend.
Who predicted FC Dallas would be this good?

Like i said, I don't buy FC Dallas quite yet, they fooled us last year too. Overachieving early, IMO.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Good game last night. Best I've seen RSL play in quite a bit. Saborio especially, he looked really motivated last night and it paid off well. Beltrans performance last night in front of klinsy earned him a spot on the USMNT roster vs Mexico this week, great stuff from him last night.
Onto SKC next week, can't even begin to describe how much im looking forward to having a go at them.

Well between injuries and a suspension to TFC's Captain MLS has basically handed Columbus 3 more points.
Hope we can dig deep and beat them.

Sorry Oz, had to rep Arsenal before the Timbers...
But speaking of the Timbers, they're playing the Sounders next. I highly recommend that everyone watch this game. It's the most fierce rivalry in MLS (just ask Chris Reina of wiretap) and it never fails to deliver.

I'm really hoping for a fantastic game. The atmosphere is always outstanding, but the game on the pitch may not be this week.
I would also suggest changing your logo to the Timbers, they clearly need more support.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
I have to rep Olympiakos. I'd be more than happy to show off my Orlando City logo as well.
