Re: 2013-14 German Bundesliga Discussion Thread
I doubt anyone here has seen enough of him to give you information.
He is playing for Bayerns 2nd team in the 4th league and only had a couple friendly games with the first squad.
His statistics in the 4th league are good, 15 goals and 7 assists in 21 games. But then again its only the 4th league.

From the few glimpses (German junior teams, Bayern, Bayern II) I have, Green is a speedy dribbler with limited physical tools, but versatile enough to play nearly everything up front. However, he is very raw and unproven.

Re: 2013-14 German Bundesliga Discussion Thread
what stands out is green's pace, his ball control and his shot/scoring ability.
i heavily doubt though that he can be a positive for the usmnt at this point. green is just ... too green.
would love him getting some wc exposure though. the natural next step in his career would be getting playing time for a good club in germany (loan deal in the summer with, say, mainz) and the wc could definitely help at this front.

For a loan, clubs like Freiburg, Mainz, Hoffenheim range would be ideal, where they trust young players. It worked pretty well with Lahm, Alaba or Kroos.

that would be awesome, he'd score 20+ goals
would love to see him play under tuchel though.
but yeah, all guesses. what we know for sure is that there's basically no chance for him to break into the first squad - at this point. alaba made it because it's basically impossible to get elite players for that position (so you just "create" your own). and müller and badstuber made it during the van gaal era (team was weaker, and van gaal is just such a radical manager...).

Mainz is not a loan club. At least not for young players. We dont develop young players for other teams.
The club wants to get transfer fees for its best players, not lose them for nothing. We are not Leverkusen.

Hoffenheim and Leverkusen will battle this WE. Just a reminder, the last match provided the most replayed "goal" in recent BL history

Lots of interesting matches this weekend.
Relegation battle starts today with Freiburg vs. Bremen
Tomorrow we have the fight for EL spots with Wolfsburg vs. Augsburg, Gladbach vs. Hertha.
Another relegation dog fight Stuttgart vs. Hamburg.
And of course the first loss in 50 games for Bayern Munich is coming. Away game in Mainz.

**** THAT ****. We needed to get that second goal with one of our many high quality chances and instead we eat a phenomenal equalizer with a minute in regular time. So annoyed right now. And that Paderborn keeper can eat a dick.

In other news, Schalke is the most likely team for Hahn. Would really miss him at Augsburg.
Actually they're not.
Hahn's got an opt out in his contract which must be used till March 31st and Schalke can't decide that soon, given that they don't know for sure what happens with Farfan and even Draxler.
The favourites are Gladbach, Leverkusen and Dortmund, while Leverkusen is said to be out of the running(Hahn's dad said so) as well.

Well it's the likely outcome when you are battling with small knives against machine guns.
I'm proud of them. Played a hell of a game despite losing 0-2.

Swap the knives with cotton swabs and the machine guns with nuclear rockets, and you got the power levels of the upcoming DFB Pokal semi (Bayern vs. Lautern). I'll be happy with a 1:4 loss.

Re: 2013-14 German Bundesliga Discussion Thread
mainz were very aggressive during the first 30 minutes, but afterwards too passive. when you just sit back in your own half against bayern you don't have a chance, you need to stay aggressive, at least for 50-60 minutes. the other thing i noticed: way too many offside positions (okazaki).
overall good job by mainz. do you see anyone leaving the club in the summer, foye? main task for mainz is to keep their squad together and improve steadily.

It is pretty common that we take a step back 15 minutes before half time. Nothing unusual. Let the opponent do a bit and see if we can counter attack.
After half time of course Bayern took control of the game but we had a few situations where we could've scored like Choupo hitting the cross bar. In the end our players were too exhausted to play the final pass often, though.
After ~ 60 minutes our pressing looked terrible. It wasn't effective anymore which is why Tuchel subbed in Bungert for Choupo Moting and tried to park the bus for the remaining minutes.
I think Tuchel couldn't have done a better job tactically. Just unlucky we didn't score on one of the few chances we had. It wasn't impossible today.
Okazaki is living on the offside line the whole season. Sometimes it works out, often it doesn't.
Regarding the transfers....
Müller can go for 6-8 mil. € if he doesn't resign because his contract runs out in 2015.
Choupo Moting is gone, too. Contract only until this summer and he can get much more money elsewhere.
I'm sure Tuchel and Heidel will do a good job of finding replacements for them but it will definitely set us back a bit.

Hertha is not having a good second half of the season so far, losing against Gladbach tonight
Well, at least that means no EL next year.
