Re: Charlotte 2014 Picks Watch Thread
I don't see the Pistons being better than the obvious choices (Heat, Pacers, Bulls, Wiz, Raptors, Nets) and I doubt they touch us if we lure another big free agent. I can see them catching the Hawks but the Hawks will get back Horford. I can also see the Knicks and Jabari Parker & the Cavs bolt past the Pistons.
No way they beat out the current teams above them.

Pelicans lost, now just need the Pistons to win tonight and it would be a great night on that end.

Charlotte 2014 Picks Watch Thread
So I did that tankathon sim thing and I won't even post what happened because it infuriated me. Had Cleveland jump 7 spots to grab the number 2 seed and lakers getting the first pick, and Detriot getting the 5th pick. I'd rather get hit by a bus than see that stupid (Please Use More Appropriate Word) kid from the Cavs watch his team get a lucky pick again. God I hate that kid.

Re: Charlotte 2014 Picks Watch Thread
I actually want the Cavs to get Jabari Parker so they can beat out the Pistons for one of the few playoff spots that will be up for grabs. I feel like the Knicks can turn around things and be there next year as well. And I feel we'll lure another big free agent or make a big splash on the trade market. If the Cavs, Knicks and Hornets beat out the Pistons, I don't see how they make the playoffs.

Cavs going down to OKC tonight, so at least they are keeping up with Detroit.

Re: Charlotte 2014 Picks Watch Thread
this don't concern our pick watch but is just a great moment for the 2014 Tankathon:
The best odds in this year's draft might be decided in the Bucks season closing game against Atlanta. I hope that by then Milwaukee (winnable games: @SAC, vs LAL, @DET, vs CLE) will have just been able to gain one game on Philly (winnable games: vs DET who is on b2b, vs BOS) who is two games above them and has tanked successfully in head-to-head games (thank you, OJ Mayo, for showing up to one game this year and catching fire from the three at Philly).
What is the catch? It's to be broadcast on ESPN!!! This really has the potential to be one for the ages. Atlanta could be playing their reserves to rest guys for the first round of the playoffs, while Milwaukee fans are watching a way too competitive Ramon Sessions and Brandon Knight diminish their chances at the first pick on national TV. Or, perhaps, Hammond is smarter (side-note, this season I saw the best NBA discussion title ever on the RealGM Bucks board - "Is Hammond stealth tanking or just bad at his job?") than we give him credit for and he forces Larry Drew to play Miroslav Raduljica for 48 minutes.
Either way, now I'm rooting for Milwaukee to gain just one game on the Sixers to see this one on national TV. It will be amazing.

If anyone was to stay he would be the guy, but he said that immediately after a humiliating first round loss. Just wait until the agents get into his ear promising him the world and he will change his mind,
I hope he stays.

Heck yeah I do. If Parker stays he gets to play with the #1 center in the nation in Okafor, #1 PG in the nation Tyus Jones, and #3 SF in the nation (recruiting rankings) next season. Not counting Sulaimon, Cook, and Jefferson coming back. It would be a done deal. We would lose 2 games max.

more importantly, someone would fall to second overall pick which is outside of DET pick protection

It would be awesome if 4-5 of the top 10 guys decided to stay another year, especially if we lose the Det pick. I would serve those tankers right.

It would be interesting to see what they would be if he stays. I am also curious to see if K uses Okafor in the post more than he has other bigs in the past. I am curious how next season will play out across the board. I was sure inside Kentucky would be huge but Johnson has been mediocre at best despite the hype. Also what rankings do you use? I have Winslow at 5 SF. Just curious who you think does the best job ranking the high school guys.

Portland could be only 3.5 games up on 8th place Memphis after tonight.
Humble yourself.

Idk about that. Parker has to know that he's going to a rebuilding team and if he already feels so incomplete after a loss as Duke then well he's in for a rude awakening if he declares for the draft this year. Best case for him the Lakers grab him since that's the only feasible team that could make the playoffs next year. Assuming Bryant is healthy.

Kobe is done, when he comes back he will just be an average SG those injuries are tearing him down
