Messi evened up the score just a few minutes before halftime.

Real went up 3-2 in the 55th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo drew a foul on Dani Alves at the edge of the area.

Neymar drew a foul on Sergio Ramos that led to a converted penalty kick for Messi and a red card for Ramos. Iniesta drew a penalty in the 84th minute, which was converted again by Messi for his hat-trick and the all-important three points for Barcelona.

There were seven yellow cards given in the match along with the red card for Ramos.
