Man talk about a sophomore disappointment.. if we had Harrison Barnes I can only imagine how many trade proposals Wiz fans would be making daily. Guy is shooting sub 40% from the field, he's shown nothing this year

Their second round pick Draymond Green has been markedly better

:/ suck. I Liked Dieng a ton. He was the guy I most wanted to trade down and select. I figured he'd be a great understudy/back-up for Okafor, a senior thus a developed player, plug and play, and figured even if there was no one else we wanted, given that this draft had no supernova top picks, other than maybe Nerlens, we could trade out for future picks from a team interested in moving up to our higher pick.

Then we landed the #3 pick, which seemed like we'd HAVE to pick whomever was the consensus best player at that spot. Problem is no consensus developed, just a mess of question marks. And then Noel fell, who seemed like a steal if we could afford to wait.

I do think Porter will be pretty good. But if I'm selecting for 'pretty good', then it seems like I could get that lower down. With you know, a modicum of common sense or a decent scouting department.

I don't have a problem with Porter, but you can't help but think that we'd have been better off falling lower in the draft.. Dieng or even someone like Giannis on a cheaper contract would have been better

I wanted Noel at #3, I think we're gonna regret passing on him. Reports from Philly are that he looks fine athletically. Only a matter of time before he starts putting up double doubles and multi-block games.. smh

FYI - Philly losing streak now at 24.

Next 5 games:

@ San Antonio
@ Houston
Detroit
@ Atlanta
Charlotte

This could easily reach 30 games, despite bad Detroit and Atlanta squads...

And, as it turns out, the Wizards could have afforded to wait for Noel.

I saw a Gorgui Dieng commercial last night endorsing suits at Nordstrom's. Very random.

I think Gil 'stole' enough $$$ from this franchise that he doesn't need to go down for B&E or grand theft.

Complete 20/20 hindsight, but the pick was selected before Giannis and Dieng were traded for the 9th pick. I am sure Utah would have been willing to give up even more to move up to 3rd.

Next up for Philly: Detroit...at home and a chance at immortality

There's tanking and then there is Philly. I hope this doesn't hurt MCW in the long run. Helluva way to start your career.

Nick is having a pretty good year for the Lakers. His scoring rate and TS (55%) are career highs. He is actually getting to the foul line 4.6 times in only 28 minutes.

When last I looked at Young's numbers, his PPA was around 65-70, which is pretty much career norm for him. His per minute numbers are basically right at his usual levels except for FGA and FTA. Also turnovers and fouls (more of each). Young could always shoot the ball -- the issue with him has been the everything else parts of his game.

It's just plain wrong that one of Dallas, Phoenix or Memphis (all of whom are at 14 or 15 games above .500) is going to miss the playoffs in the West, while Atlanta or New York (both of whom are at 11-13 games below .500) is going to make it in the East.
