Jakobe wrote:Hi everyone,

Hornets fan from Australia here. A few words to introduce myself: I can't even begin to describe the excitement of having the Charlotte Hornets back in the NBA. For somebody not living in the US, brand ID is EVERYTHING. How can I (and millions of international fans) associate with cities, after all? I caught the Hornets bug in 1994. I lived in Germany at that time and watched a game between the Hornets and the Magic. Muggsy scored a bunch of points in that game and the Hornets won 127-125. I still have the game on VHS and have watched it multiple times. Following the NBA was certainly different compared to the USA. No internet meant that I would get my news in a general sports magazine. To make things more interesting, I asked friends to read out quarter scores for each game or covered scores on teletext before slowly (and with increased heartbeat) revealing the numbers. The few Hornets games shown on TV were so precious that I would tape them, re-watch them over and over and tried re-played the events of Muggsy & Zo with my little brother.
I always had a soft spot for the Hornets after they moved to OKC/ NO and the Bobcats, but it was never the same, and I started following teams based on rosters (mainly Phoenix). I have watched every Bobcats game I could this season and can't wait for 2014-15 to come!

Some quick facts:

* Favourite Charlotte Hornets of all time: 1 Bogues, 2 Rice 3 Mourning
* Favourite current Hornets/ Bobcats: 1 Kidd-Gilchrist 2 Walker 3 Jefferson
* Best trade of all time: Kobe for Vlade (I dislike Kobe's selfish attitude, think he would have left at first opportunity, and the Hornets wouldn't have had a couple of great seasons with Vlade)
* Worst trade of all time: Zo for Rice and others (as much as I loved Rice, the tearing apart of my favourite trio in sports of all time still hurts)

On topic: I would really like to see us going after Nate Robinson. He has a player option, but with the salary available to Charlotte, I'm sure he could be convinced to become a free agent. Signing Nate would make sense on many levels: he brings energy and excites crowds like no other player in the NBA. He's a fan favourite wherever he goes and would work well with the re-branding (small player, Muggsy memories). Nate is a solid back-up point guard with never say die attitude and ability to score in bunches.

Morey has done like two or three AMAs on reddit, he probably reads RealGM too. I'd bet on it.

I can only recall the Matt Carroll for Hakim Warrick and the D-League call up of Chris Douglas-Roberts as moves that Cho made that were proposed on this board beforehand. If Cho listened to the mass of us, Jeremy Lamb or Gordon Hayward would've been in a Bobcats uniform by now, and Cody Zeller never would've been drafted

We definitely wouldn't have traded Sessions and Jeff Adrien to Milwaukee for their scraps. Neal has been alright but definitely not at the cost of those two.

Neal was at such odds with the Bucks front office/locker room that he could've been had for a lot less. The desperation was on Milwaukee's end, but the aftermath would make you believe that Charlotte was the culprit

Okay, here's one: When DJ White's 10 day expires, don't resign him.
Sign Willie Reed
6'10, 220, D League player, 23, had a cup of coffee with MEM last spring, bouncy, long, good defender, decent offensive player, would be better depth at C imo

We traded Warrick already, didn't we? Who was the one who called it in advance?
