Still Jahii Carson though he'd be crazy to actually be in this draft at this point. I would claim he has the most non-height talent of any of the PGs. The "damage" of his size may make him a starter instead of a star instead of a non-NBA player instead of starter.

Re: Biggest Sleeper for 2014 Draft?
he could be one of those int'l names called late 2nd that we hear every year that never come over, but ioannis papapetrou is a kid who, because he played a yr at texas but signed a contract to play for olympiacos just prior to this season, is auto eligible.
being signed by a team like olympiacos is kind of a big deal for a 19 y/o with little hype. before that, he had an ok freshman yr after also being offered by the likes of kansas and florida. he was part of a super young texas team with some dysfunction on it, but he did show some flashes. i remember fran fraschilla comparing him to a young chandler parsons because of his size, athleticism and all-around game. he supposedly made some serious strides in his game over the summer, playing for greece's u20 team (with g.adetokunbo on the team too), leading them in scoring with 16 points per game on 48% from the floor, performing well enough to get an immediate offer from olympiacos.
just going by the little that i've seen from him at texas and from some euro u20 footage, he's about 6'8, athletic build, solid athlete, high iq, good passer with a compact stroke. he's not a huge part of olympiacos' rotation but he does get some run, even in euroleague games. in limited action he's got a nice shooting line of 48/38/77. here's some footage from his time with olympiakos. primarily spot ups, straight line drives, basket cuts, transition buckets and some pull ups. he's a good passer too.

He has a big red flag with his steals. And for a small guy, that doesn't look good. Based on that alone, even if he is drafted, I think he goes to the D-league. There's a reason Pierre Jackson couldn't escape the D-league and there's a reason Nate Robinson signed on to a stacked-at-point-guard Nuggets team.
Even the Kings aren't happy with Isaiah Thomas because they see the limitations. That's why he was in early trade talks. He can produce, but he's undersized and it hurts.
No one wants an undersized point guard. I think he goes undrafted. There are too many good point guards in the league and in this draft. It's a deep position.
At the same time, a team could possibly get a steal with him if they really believe in him. I could see that happening too.

Shabazz Napier. Maybe Elfrid Payton, but I don't know where he is supposed to be picked.

Ram, are you sure he is eligible? he is from 94', normally an european guy, unless can decide when he wants to enter before being eligible at 22.
Ioannis is 20.
I will draft him with an early 2nd if he is eligible.

finally got a scouting video up on him on DX. Impressed with the Defensive potential. Looks quicker and more pitbull like than Marcus Smart even. had that Avery Bradley feel to his ball pressure and positioning and made screens look non-existant. Also loved the effort and how active he stayed constant pressure and energy.

I don't remember if I mentioned him in this thread before, but Alan Williams of UCSB belongs. Out of the Paul Millsap mold, he doesn't pass the eye test, but he just produces better than everyone else. We'll see if his length measures well enough to make up for his lack of height.

yes, because he was an amateur, college player who turned pro. that makes him auto eligible.

Yeah, we've both had him in here before. Not sure if all that production translates for him or not. He plays C for UCSB, correct?
You are a midwest guy, right? What's your take on Kaminsky?

I like the Bucks (unfortunately), but I know very little about 'Sconsin hoops. But Frank Kaminsky has some similarities to Frank Brickowski. The Brick House Key was a surprisingly effective player back in the day.

Well, it looks like Frank Kaminsky made quite a name for himself tonight vs. Arizona.

He'd been totally ignored the majority of the season, though if people haven't seen deanondraft.com he's been mentioned there and it is worth the visit. Only 20 years old as a junior is another interesting note on him. For people that have seen more of him, is a four or five at the next level?

I mentioned this on the Raptors board, but Kaminsky looks like what Andrea Bargnani was supposed to be. He definitely seems to play with a certain swagger to him that Andrea rarely, if ever, displayed.
He has a 29 PER, .243 WS/48, 2.7 Per 40 blk/gm....on the downside, rebounding is a bit low, but he does play a lot on the outside FWIW, less opportunity for rebounds.
Oh, and he scored 43 pts in a game earlier this year:

He's a 5 imo, who can do a bit of everything offensively, including pass the ball. Pretty good passer, if you go back to the Baylor game in the sweet 16.

That Bargs comp could be decent. I couldn't comment on the comparison on D though, maybe someone wants to fill in the gaps. Does seem like modestly well-rounded big men that can shoot are in high demand lately.

He definitely wins the woody Harrison/Ryan Kelley award for the guy who looks like that can't possibly be a good ballplayer award.wish he was a better rebounder though

Plays like Memo after he added the ability to drive later in his career. I'm really liking him a lot, he's got a chance to really play himself high in the draft; would be a perfect fit for the Jazz next to Favors.

Pretty rare for a guy of that size to have the kind of offensive touch and awareness to go along with that kind of a shot.
Hard to project in some ways but you have to think that a contender would love him as a backup big.

Forgot all about Okur. But yeah, that's definitely an interesting comp for Kaminsky. Some similarities there.

I've been high on Frank Kaminsky since that 43 point game. That's insane (especially for someone that's 7'1). I'd just given up on him because he's literally been on no draft boards and scouts haven't been talking about him at all.
At the same time, who knows if he can adjust to the NBA game.
