Barea, Budinger, Mbah a Moute for Gordon.

Kevin Martin and Eric Gordon's contracts together on the same team? Martin needs to be going out in a Gordon deal.

I think Martin can be moved, lol. His contract isn't really bad...just a year too long. Lots of vet teams can use a good scorer off the bench.

I used to have some sources inside the Hawks and yes, there are far more people checking out sites than you might think. Team execs, coaches, players, trainers, staff, etc. will check out or post on fan sites.

The absolutely legendary Juan Dixon Explosion after he caught the "Incredibly Sucky Juan Dixon" thread on the Wizards forum. He dropped 35 on the Chicago Bulls after seeing the thread to even the '05 playoffs at 2-2. The original article from the Baltimore Sun

Nathan Froe, a suburban Washington sales professional, and the other forum fans didn't have an inkling Dixon had taken notice until the former Maryland and Calvert Hall star mentioned the pointed critiques after scoring 35 points to pace Washington over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night to even their first-round playoff series at 2-2.

"A close friend of mine told me to read this message board last night, I guess it's the Washington Wizards message board," Dixon began in a post-game interview on Comcast SportsNet.

The guard continued by identifying the criticism and then saying: "That got me fired up. You know I'm already a self-motivated person. But that took it to another level. ... I definitely wanted to throw that back in their face."

A true Hall of Fame moment. The recap of the thread on the Wizards board and the archived original Amazingly Sucky Juan Dixon thread.

The majority of sports fans are reasonable people who have a lot of varying passions and interests. But there is a certain sect of sports fans for whom watching actual games is only but a small aspect of their dedication to a team. These are the people who spend a good chunk of their free time browsing message boards, positing theories and deconstructing the opinions of their fellow addic… er… fans. I’ve been a sports message board frequenter since I was in my teens, and it can get, well, pretty weird. The community aspect of these message boards often keeps people coming back on a daily basis, just for their own entertainment. For the most part, these people are never under the assumption that what they’re doing is actually constructive… until now.

According to Rockets GM Daryl Morey, the time that fans spend theorizing player signings and trade scenarios isn’t completely wasted.

We do RT @jamesasteven: @dmorey Do nba GMs (to your knowledge) ever gain trade/transaction ideas from online message boards/fans?

Meaning any of our past posts could have swayed a franchise-altering move and changed the lives of many people.

I certainly would be keeping an eye open to ideas. As a RGM veteran.. I see good and creative ideas.. and stuff that is DOA.. hopeless. You also can get a sort of viewpoint of fans who see a certain player all the time. Nobody sees EVERY player play every game. I..for instance.. am pretty well aware of GSW players but... I don't know everything about guys on the Bobcats.

I did the same regarding the only feasible place the Suns could trade Scola for a pick was Indiana (and the fact they would be inclined to do it because their bench was their biggest problem last year), and the Suns could take back a pick and Gerald Green (just to match salaries). I didn't mention the Plumlee part, but that happened not too long after.

Of course I didn't expect Green to play this well.
