Tank Commander 3/28/14 Thread

Post#1 » by ImHeisenberg » Fri Mar 28, 2014 2:05 pm

Thought we could start a daily thread to promote conversation of where the Pistons are in relation to the rest of the "tankers".

Celtics @ Raptors: Celtics have a 3 game "lead" on Detroit in the tank standings. They probably aren't going anywhere. But, still, root for the Celtics.

Cavs @ Nets: Our current arch-rival who we currently have a 2-game lead on. Root for the Cavs.

Jazz @ Pelicans: Tough call. It's a win-win or lose-lose depending on how you look at it. If the Jazz win, the gap between them and Detroit closes, as Pistons have only won 3 more games than Utah. If the Pels win, they widen the gap between us and them, reducing their potential threat in draft positioning. I say, root for the Jazz.

Lakers @ T'Wolves: Easy call here, root for the hated Lakers. With how up and down the Wolves have been, LA might actually escape with a win. A win for LA would put them at 25 wins, just one less than Detroit. Big draft implications with this game.

Kings @ Thunder: You can root for the Kings, but we all know how this ends.

Knicks @ Suns: Hopefully the Knicks can string some wins together and keep chasing that 8th seed, right out of draft positioning. Root for the Knickerbockers.

Heat @ Pistons: The moral dilemma for most. Root for Miami to beat your team? In the scenario we currently reside- the answer is "yes". Root for the Heat to make an example of us.

Root for the Suns actually. If Cleveland wins and Knicks lose the battle for the 8th play-off spot tightens and as long as Cleveland has a shot at that playoff spot they're going to go for it and not tank. NYK have zero reason to take as they don't own their pick no matter what as it's unprotected to Denver.

Most of those teams are over matched. The Jazz/Pels and Lakers/Wolves could go either way, as all four of those teams are relatively inconsistent.

lakers, jazz, and celts all have decent to good chances of winnings. the kings will probably beat a few teams they shouldn't down the stretch as well. they remind me of our team so much hahaha

I opened this thread expecting it to laud the players that led to losses like we used to do with wins. I had actually thought about starting that thread.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.
