I love Dwyane Wade.

Post#1 » by Grumpy Heat Fan » Thu Mar 27, 2014 6:43 pm

(no homo)

but I just wanted to say I love Dwyane, and I will be sad when he retires. Kinda sucks he entered the league a little older than the average draftee, we will have less of him than we should have. I still remember being filled with hope when I watched him as a young player, ballin on the league at Jordan-levels while playing with Shaq in 04-05.

He's my fav HEat PLAYER AND I REMEMBER how LBJ got al of the attention while Wade was straight up balling and holding his own with much less pub. I was always pissed at how the media would disregard him when they mentioned LBJ..I remember those head to heads between him/LBJ/kobe....how weird that they now play together.

I remember him and his wife use to shop at the publix near where I use to live....

Sometimes I lose sleep just thinking if we had prime wade with bron or just 2011 wade hurts my heart not knowing what could've been easier and more dynamic

Of course it would be, there's a reason why the other 29 teams in league were all bawwing that "it's not fair" the "league is ruined now" "I'm not going to watch the nba anymore" etc etc because in perspective, even a 2011 Wade in the big 3's second year makes the Heat virtually unstoppable. You have to realize that the first year team won what 55 games? With the big 3 basically taking turns, isos and SO many crunch time meltdowns because nobody wanted to step on each other's foot. 55 games!! and then went on to gentleman sweep the East and were two winning quarters away from the title.

That's again with the big 3 taking turns on offense, having Joel Anthony as the starting center, and overall a much worse bench than 2012-2014.

I mean we're here saying that a healthy Wade = 3peat but a 2011 Wade = domination. I'm not even gonna speak about a 08-'10 version.]

Edit: But it is what it is.

Ignore the Pacer troll...I can't imagine what his deal will be when his team ends up getting no further than last year. I'm actually getting a tad worried thinking about it....it's just sports, not a cathedral.

And of course Wade will be sorely missed. I hope that time never comes in all honesty...this is the guy along with Pat Riley that put this franchise on the map. What he's done for this franchise can't be valued enough....

Haha, I'm sure Lebron wishes he were playing with that Dwyane too, but it was never gonna be that way. With the revelation earlier this season that Dwyane's cartilage was completely removed instead of repaired in college, I have a feeling Dwyane suspected all along that his knee wouldn't hold up into his 30s, and his days as a main guy were numbered. So it was this knowledge that allowed him to justify teaming up with his main competitor in the East.

So as much as I get frustrated at times with Dwyane these days, I try to remember he could've just as easily been our injury-riddled primary star who crippled us with a max contract for 6 seasons, and in that case I'd be a LOT more frustrated with him. That's why I don't agree with the people who talk about the sacrifice that Dwyane made by bringing in LeBron and Chris and taking a backseat. As much as winning championships has enhanced Lebron's legacy, it's done moreso for Wade's when you consider where he and the Heat would be without Lebron. Makes 2010 free agency even more of a masterstroke on his and Riley's part, and it may be why I love him the most.

I love me some Wade too but I will be honest it is becoming a little difficult this year. I defender him last year after the Finals in the off-season in real life against friends and on RealGM. To me this is a referendum season on his health and ability as a player going forward. If he is still injured in the playoffs despite being given almost all back-to-backs off, strategic resting, missing 20-25 games then we should all drop the "healthy Wade" misnomer and accept this.

You know what does piss me off? The fact that his injuries robbed him of his prime and the dominance that this team could have exhibited. I have always felt that if Wade had Kobe's health he would be easily challenging him for the 2nd best SG ever title. Peak for peak I take Wade over Kobe easily. People (mostly haters) complain that our team has never been dominant in the playoffs or is not an all-time great team. No ****, you idiots. The player who was supposed to be the 1b/2 has been constantly injured in the 2 title runs and we have still managed to win.

Look at what we did when Wade and LeBron played up to their potential. We sonned Indiana hard with no Bosh in games 4-6 in 2012, last year we won 27 straight. That's why I don't get idiots on RealGM who say LeBron plays best with shooters around him. YES, that's the case if Wade is hurt like last year but if Wade is healthy, 3 or no 3 Wade and LeBron is too much offensive firepower for any team.

This year Wade has to average a consistent 20/5/5 (if fully healthy I feel like he can do more) in the playoffs, no ifs or buts. If he doesn't we won't win anyway.

I too love Dwyane Wade he's my favorite player by far. I'm a young fan(19 years old) so Wade's been in the league since I started watching basketball during the 04-05 season. I can't imagine the NBA without D. Wade, the day he retires will be a heartbreaking day in South Florida. Let's just hope he goes out with a bang!

That's taunting. Stephenson should have known better. Wade merely called attention to it. He should have known to keep his emotions in check especially when the two already had words earlier in the game. It's accountability, and Wade did nothing to instigate that. Lance shouldn't have been so blatant with it. Come on.

He already had a technical. You don't turn around and gesture in that manner to another player. That's a technical every time. Does LeBron ever step to another player as blatantly as Lance did there? Be honest. That's how fights start. Lance forgot he wasn't on the street for a moment there.

He's held to a certain standard now that he's in the league. He was wrong for that. Lance should have just directed his hype to the crowd or the open space, but when you direct it as blatantly as he did to another player, it's a T.

How can you be mad at LeBron for doing his job? We didn't have enough wins in 08/09 and from 04 to 06 to justify Wade winning MVP and in 04/05 it was more Shaq being considered to be our best player. If you wanna blame the system, cool, but I don't see how LeBron, with the same numbers in 08/09 and more wins didn't deserve it? Not that it's Wade's fault, LeBron had a better team around him, but how else do you wanna separate two players who were on the same or a similar level individually? Tell me a solution and you can talk about Wade being robbed of an MVP, otherwise I don't see it.

This! Wade was great in 08/09, but Lebron had a better team record so he deserves that MVP!
However, it was a joke when a lot of you have stated that Bosh has became our second best player this year  :nonono: , but when it count and when it will count in the PlayOffs, Wade will be by far our second best player in the team!

My favorite player of all time! I'm getting sick and tired of trying to defend this dude and his play this year tho. Hopefully he turns it up come playoff time and shuts everybody up.

He can't control his injury woes; he's been relatively unlucky for most of his career in terms of maximizing the quality seasons of his basketball tenure. Half of prime was cut short due to freak injuries and when he was healthy he played on horrible teams. He is easily my favorite player of all-time and no matter what the odds I will never doubt him. He pisses me off as much as the next Heat fan but he will eternally have my benefit of the doubt.
