The stuff that he has flashed throughout ST would play now, no doubt. It's just a matter of commanding it consistently, which we also saw isn't there yet.

It's possible, if not all that likely, he could be ready mid-season, but the perfect world scenario is of course that we don't need him at any point and he gets a chance to find that consistency and have a dominant season from start to finish.

So the sun rose in the north and Morrow had a good outing. Wonder what the odds are on him staying healthy and delivering regular performances like that.

Janssen has been put on the DL, and Kratz has been promoted from BUF.

Am I crazy or does that make no sense? A third catcher to replace our closer?

Navarro or Kratz will probably DH against LHP.

8 man pen was a necessary ( in AA's mind at least ) evil to keep the out of options guys on the roster.

Janssen's DL stint allows them to structure the 25 man a bit more sensibly.

I get that they have the ability to restructure but why another catcher? They should have brought Gose up seeing as we have no backup CF, or Kawasaki up as a super utility infielder. Kratz gives you no other options unless they plan on sending him right back down after the game tomorrow.

Tampa has two lefties going in this series and Gose is still a fairly terrible hitter in general, nevermind against lefties. He adds little value to the team right now.

Kratz at least gives them the option to platoon Navarro with Lind.

I'd rather see Lind vs a leftie than Navarro.
