Updated the odds of the Wizards possible record in their remaining games over at the blog, both using full season numbers and using the Nenê off-court numbers.

As of today, 43-47 wins looks like a reasonable range.

It's funny, the rational side of brain would know that a 47-win season in a histrionically diluted East would be somewhat misleading -- or as Dat likes to say so often, "fool's gold." At the same time, it would be really hard not to feel pleased (among other things) about a 47-win season.

Man, if someone liked to play the proverbial ponies, they might look at Nivek's odds of winning against moneyline payouts and look to exploit inefficiencies.

Predict the Wizards Record '13-'14 season.

Post#592 » by closg00 » Fri Mar 21, 2014 9:15 pm

There is the possibility that the starters will have light duty towards the end of the season. We could tank a little the last 4-5 games.

Keep hope alive Closg

That a boy.

My defense is I actually chimed in right before saying 47 was my gut but stuck to my original 49 why not dream big. I just didn't factor in that Randy wouldn't learn anything over the season and that Maynor would be as horrible as he was. Thats worth 10 wins right there. 47-49 should have been safe. I mean what coach doesn't know enough to call an Fing TO or sub in a bench player when you have 3 players with 5 fouls AND YOU HAVE TO FOUL

They should have been in ...

52 - Chaos Revenant
51 - Wizardspride
50 - JWizmentality,Chocolate City Jordanaire, Bigwig

Range.

Just updated the prognosticator for the last 14 games. As of last night's games, the Wizards are favored to win 8-to-9 more games. That would put them at 43 or 44 wins for the season.

Half of those games have basically coin flip odds --

- at Denver
- at Phoenix
- at Charlotte
- at New York
- Chicago
- Miami
- at Boston

If everything played out exactly as the current odds estimate, they'll alternate wins and losses (starting with a win tonight against the Lakers) for the next 8 games. Then they'll win 4 in a row (vs. Chicago, Charlotte, Orlando and Milwaukee), lose to the Heat, and finish up the regular season by beating Boston.

That would mean 44-38.

I think at least splitting with the Bobcats is the key... don't think we can move up now unless someone falls apart - which would be really great.

we only have to finish tied with either BRK or CHI to get a higher seed since
we swept BRK and have already beaten CHI 2x. The games against the 'cats
are both huge but every game is huge going forward.

Okay...

The various numbers are converging on the Wizards going 6-3 to finish out the season. That would put them at 44-38.

Here are the odds of them winning their remaining games:
