Man, qualifying for the World Cup meant so much for our country. Hopefully we can make a memorable Croatia-esq (back in 1998) debut.

Arg and BosniaH, both advance, easily

for some reason, i really DONT like how BosniaH plays
i feel like they use professional fouls, to gain advantage
and continuously foul and force the ref to make/miss calls
still, they are a skilled team and will advance out of this group, easily

Next to the US, BIH is the one national team with the largest quota of BL players. Not too hard to imagine an "all-Teutonic" BIH squad:

Fejzic
Mujdza, Bicakcic, Spahic, Kolasinac
Zukanovic (Eupen is almost in Germany  ), Zahirovic, Misimovic, Salihovic
Dzeko, Ibisevic

BTW, how do you guys see Spahic? He is rapidly developing a "fake tough" image in the BL, on one hand gritty and dirty, on the other hand error prone and at times helpless. Ever since Zlatan made him his b**** in the CL, his game is "foul one minute, blunder next minute".

That right there would be why they called him the butcher in France, he was either butchering an opposing player or his own assignments.

yea, Spahic is one of the most aggressive players out there. But, he's been pretty consistent when it comes to his play for the national team, he was the anchor of our defense in the qualifiers and is no doubt the team's spiritual leader. He and Dzeko are, for the most part, the heart and soul of our team.

That's what I'm thinking.

Cro run in 98 was memorable even for us (at least to me anyway)

As an American-Iranian, I'm going to be focusing on this group. BIH and NGA are obviously better teams, but I couldn't have asked for a better group in terms of chances of advancing. (upgrade from 0% to 1%). Iran isn't the team to get blown out and destroyed, as they play a heavily defensive style. Our forwards this year are actually decent, but I don't see them doing much. Realistically, I hope we manage to get a point or two. That would be a nice. I think they could hang with BIH and NGA, but it would be unrealistic to expect a win against either team, who are considerably more talented. I think I'm pushing my luck hoping for a draw, lol.

Gl, man! As someone of Trini descent I totally understand. When we qualified in 2006 it meant the world to Trinidad.

Enjoy it! You'll definitely have a better chance to make it out of the group than we did.

Thanks! You know the World Cup means everything to the people when the streets of Sarajevo literally fill up to greet the team arriving back home at around 3 am. Image Also, I like Trinidad and Tobago: hopefully you guys make it to the next World Cup!

Haha, I'm a Canadian-Iranian. It's definitely going to be exciting for the team in the world cup. All of my older family members are even excited, they don't watch soccer. Hoping we can pull out a point against Nigeria. It'll be tough, but we could put up a good game against the two teams other than Argentina

I wrote this article talking about the resemblances between that Croatia team and this Bosnia team.

Considering the fan support and Messi knowing he needs to have a great tournament, Argentina should win the group. Bosnia-Herzigovina should beat Nigeria and Iran to advance as well. They've got enough offense and defense to be too much for those other two sides.

Really excited to see Bosnia compete on an international stage. They're a very underrated team.

My team is Argentina.
I picked Bosnia-Herzegovina #2 in the group.
Talented squad.
