from the Kemba Walker thread, i would really like to get Gordon Hayward he would be a really nice fit here because he can do a bit of everything and does it all well, he would be a good fit with Kemba and MKG in the starting lineup and he is friends with Al so i have no doubt he would really like to play with him again

I don't see a trade thread on here so I guess this would be as good a place as any to discuss it. I might be biased because I'm a UConn fan but I think Jeremy Lamb would be a good fit with lots of potential for this team. He can shoot all day and has a lot of defensive potential. OKC is likely way too smart to trade him at this point but I can dream.

We need to use Hendo and our draft picks to try to get an upgrade at SG that can shoot outside and defend and get a backup PG. I would rather keep Biz. I think he is as good as you can hope for out of a backup center and could still potentially be a really good starter once Al is gone or starts to decline. I think it's too early to give up on him unless we were getting something substantial out of him and I don't see most other teams offering too much for him because being stuck on the bench behind Al has devalued him somewhat, at least as far as perception goes.

Patterson is slightly a better player than McRoberts, but I think Patterson will be seeking a contract in excess of $5 million annually this offseason in which I'm not sure is worth it chemistry-wise if McRoberts could be retained for around $3.5 million annually tops

However, if I'm Charlotte I would offer up to $8 million annually (even though my initial lowball interest would be around $6 million per year) to try to steal restricted free-agent Ed Davis away from Memphis

I think the option to pursue McRoberts if he decides to opt out will be dictated by who Charlotte drafts, and what other free-agent options (primarily shooting guards) are available

In my opinion, you try to find the high ceiling/hasn't reached it yet player who can be signed for a bargain and then hope he pans out, rather than over-paying one of them considering that the possibility of him not reaching his full potential is high.

I would take my chances on overpaying for the 24 year old North Carolina product that has a above average career PER (16.0) and has shown the ability to be a rim protector as well as shoot the midrange jump shot. Adding Davis to Charlotte's future outlook would take their defensive identity to another level

Cody Zeller has proven to be a solid defender & better rebounder than Josh McRoberts who is essentially quality backup material, but Zeller has not proven to be a starter. If Ed Davis can be had, Charlotte should take advantage of it. Memphis isn't fooling me by limiting Davis' minutes so that they can retain him relatively cheap. Davis would fit alongside Al Jefferson with his rim protection and ability to knock down midrange jump shots like a glove

Would you target him as a future starter? If so, the sample size (a bench guy) has to be considered when looking at his PER.
