i wonder if there's any sweeter feeling in sports than making someone pay for intentionally walking the guy in front of you.

5-2 m's, top 5
brad miller goes yard against wilson to get one back, after erasmo gave up a 2-run bomb to ibanez.

Smoak ends the rally after Cano walked again, but did you see the pitch selection on that at bat? Wilson worked the count full with three pitches on the edge outside and three pitches on the edge inside. Strike three was a nice pitch that was hard to hit, but Wilson approached Smoak the way a pitcher would approach someone like Miguel Cabrera or Trout for goodness sakes...respect?

Ramirez has been filthy tonight.
The potential of a Felix/Iwakuma/Ramirez/Walker/Paxton rotation is pretty ridiculous.
Now lets close this game out.

Can't argue with our starting pitching so far. If our bullpen can hold on here, two impressive victories against a talented hitting team. Nice.

The only thing standing in their way is remaining healthy. All five of those guys have the talent to be top notch starts in this league.

That curve Wilhelmsen just dropped on Trout was filthy.
McLendon seems to like to use his bullpen a fair amount and go lefty/righty.

Im already over Wilhemsen as our setup man.

Maybe I spoke too soon about Wilhelmsen...there went his control. I like seeing McLendon pop out of the dugout and talk to his guy before the situation turned dire. Maybe I'm picking nits but Wedge seemed set on letting the guy work through it and often acted too late. I feel like McLendon's just in control.
Shame...Wilhelmsen did what he needed to do and Cano spiked the throw. Thank goodness for the three run cushion.

My next worry is the A's. They always seem to have our number. Especially early in the season. I hate the A's.

I think Wilhelmsen did fine after the mound visit. He got the ground ball he needed. Tough play for Cano but maybe you take the out and 2nd and eat the throw.
Supposedly Pryor's a few weeks away. Since he hasn't pitched a ton in the MLB level, I don't know how much time he will need or how he will look out of the gate. If Wilhelmsen struggles, Farquhar should get a shot...guy was nails as a closer last year, and I hate to see him reduced to the 2nd righty out of the pen.
This pen could be good...

That was a filthy pickoff!
Oh and I am loving this Dustin Ackley early on. Reminds me of the guy who first came up to the big leagues.

That was sweet. Didn't even throw a pitch, did he?

Wow! That was tagged. That was like a single for a home run.

The sound of the ball off Miller's bat gave me chills. Wow. You can't hit a pitch any cleaner than that.

I remember a home run like that Cespedes hit in Oakland against us where you knew from the sound the ball was gone, and the flight path of the ball made it look like the damn thing was still on its way up when it went out. I wished we had someone who could do that at the time. Miller just did.
