Barnes and Ginobili are the only surprises on that list.

You might be the only poster that dare to question this, and I agree. The development of the Bobcats youth has not been a progressive process over the past few years. As you touched on MKG, Biyombo, Taylor, and Henderson not developing much if any, I would also like to throw Kemba into that mix. Kemba has theoretically the same per 36 from his rookie year until now. Probably the only progress Kemba has made is on dare I say efficiency but mostly confidence due to Dunlap giving him the keys in Year 2
its not really a new development. the cats have been horrendous and either 1) developing drafted players or 2) drafting players who had room to improve. we have never really had a player who showed significant improvement after being drafted. kemba is probably the best example and even his improvement hasnt been what i would consider significant. okafor never improved, felton never improved, augustin never improved, hendo hasnt improved, biz and mkg havent really improved (save me the stats about how biz has improved - i am talking about noticeable improvement on offense), ajinca didnt improve, ammo didnt improve.
to be fair, hendo has had 4 coaches in the past 5 years and kemba and biz have had 3 in the past 3. that cant be helping development.

Agreed. I took up for Silas earlier in the season, but its a problem. Biyombo has nice flashes every 6 games or so, but hes still eh, MKG looks like hes regressed. Its a problem.

you know improvement is a two way street, the coaching staff can make a way for you but if you dont have the drive or the talent...what does it matter? on a side note Ajinca improvement greatly while playing in Europe

Undoubtedbly, improvement is a two-way street, but I doubt that one of MKG, Biyombo, or Kemba aren't willing to put in the effort & work. All offseason all I hear & read about is how much Kemba has been in the gym by himself working on his jump shot, Biyombo doing Crossfit training, and ravings about MKG's willingness to improve. All three are impactful players with a lot of room for growth that can take this team to the very next level of being a legit contender, but the common denominator is the process, or for a better use of words, the internal root of the organization

I'm watching this Warriors-Spurs game and I just had to reiterate to myself that MKG is definitely better than Harrison Barnes.

I like Barnes but your assesment is astute Catch.
MKG>>Barnes.
They would compliment each other though, if they played in the same team and both have plenty of room to grow.

barnes seems to be going though the same growing pains as MKG.

I concur. The irony is that Harrison Barnes has almost textbook form on the mechanics of his jump shot. I hope that the coaching staff isn't adamant about changing the way MKG shoots, but instead building his confidence on the shot by giving him a lot of repetitions and extending the arc

Mike (Charlotte)
Why are people so quick to right off players these days? MKG is a great example, he is 9 months younger than every member of the All-American team this year, yet people think he should be a finished product. It seems if you are drafting players 2-3 years earlier than years past they should be given 2-3 years longer than normal to decide if they are a bust. right?Amin Elhassan (4:18 PM)
I'm a big MKG fan....and a fan of patience! PReaching to the choir, REVEREND!

He sucks so bad though. Always saw glimpses in Cody even when he looked lost. MKG has no offense whatsoever. Dude can't make a layup.

MKG sucks so bad....
The guy is easily the best defender on our team, he is one of the best wing defenders in the NBA and is arguably the second best post defender for a wing in the league.
He's also an elite rebounder for his position which is a great asset to have.
His offense is on par with Harrison Barnes who is apparently some future offensive juggernaut.
He is the fifth youngest player in the league and is already a starter on and huge component of a team that will make the playoffs a few years removed from being arguably the worst team in history.

Re: OMFKG! The Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Thread II
We need to give MKG 2 more seasons before we go into the "he sucks" category. His defense is only going to get better, and its already pretty damn good.
His offense can't get any worse

Watching Kawhi Leonard right now. MKG has a LOOOOONG way to go before hes up to his level.

Re: OMFKG! The Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Thread II
Mark Price was recently on Taylor's Take. The third video has Mark Price mentioning that this summer will be important for MKG. I'm guessing because there won't be any other distractions for MKG like there is during the season.

Hey MKG. Lets try actually playing half decent for a full game.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: OMFKG! The Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Thread II
MKG should've been in the game at the end. I believe we would've won a lot easier by getting some stops. Clifford need to start playing our defensive stopper in the playoffs for DeRozan if we get matched up with Toronto and Paul George if we get matched up with the Pacers. If we play Chicago I'll understand not playing MKG since Chicago can't really score and we'll need enough scoring power to beat their defense.

I wish we played MKG heavy minutes like the Bulls play Jimmy Butler.

MKG needs to.start sending gift baskets to the refs hotel rooms. I've never seen a guy get screwed as completely and consistently as he does by the refs. He seems like a nice guy who plays hard and doesn't say much so I don't know why they seem to hate him so.
