OT: Game of Thrones - ****Contains Spoilers!!****

Post#1 » by kane » Wed Apr 2, 2014 5:14 pm

new season starts this sunday, ive spent the last week rewatching seasons 1-3 and its amazing how much easier it is to follow when you know who's who  they spent so much time talking about people you've not even seen yet and so many factions the first time around it was alot harder to follow ... finally feel like i got my footing on the show cant wait for the new season now :D

one question i still have is can a warg take over the mind of a dragon?

Honestly, I'd suggest reading the books. It's so much easier to follow if you know the characters.

And we haven't seen a warg use a dragon yet, but there's no reason to doubt they could.

Im rewatching the series right now but my fiance is watching for the first time. The first season was truly amazing and we are on the second right now...Paying attention to the dialogue makes everything more clear this go around about people's character.

Im also a book reader although im almost halfway through the last one right now. This season I promise all you GOT fans will be really popular

5th book prologue spoilers about your warg question, no storyline or plot related spoiler, though so don't be too afraid to click.

Spoiler:
the random warg in the prologue talks about how hard it is to warg into mentally strong people/things. There is a reason Bran can warg into Holder when he needed to. Yoder is mentally weak, so there is reason to believe that a dragon would be near impossible to warg into.

The Microsoft surface has the worst autocorrect in the history of technology. Wary warg war warg knocks knick knocks knicks so please ignore any words that seem out of place.

I can't wait for non book readers to watch this season, from that thing that happened in s03e9 until the end of book 3 is easily the greatest, most exhilarating, exciting, gut-punching and enjoyable 400 pages I have ever read. This season alsointroduces the most awesome and bad ass character in the series.
RIP Jared Jeffries. Gone but never forgotten...2006-2012

I would say not. I'll use the old Dungeons and Dragons analogy as reason...dragons were not considered animals and was not impacted by any spell that affected animals (positively or negatively).

yeah they talk alot in the show about how the dragons make magic stronger(why the warlocks wanted to keep them) so they might be immune to magic

I think the 4th season will complete the 3rd book, otherwise I don't understand how are they going to go thru the next books. Furthermore, the producers said before season 3 that season would be of double chapters to allow the whole 3rd book to enter in the 3rd season. Since each episode was regular length and there was A LOT of things left out, I think the 4th season will still continue with the 3rd book

and btw: READ THE BOOKS!!!!! They're 100000000000 times better than the series (and the series is amazing), but the books are just adictive. Not recommended at all for people that works regular hours or studying hard, though. Once you grab the books you have no life :D

I just re-read Book 1 and realized that the series does not delve into the Tower of Joy/Lyanna Stark's death scene at all, even though it's such a huge part of the book. It's virtually non-existent in the HBO series -- and you would have figured if it was so integral, they would have at least done a flashback scene. Instead it's barely mentioned at all. Wonder why it was eliminated..

That was a real badass chapter in the book. This clip splices in the audio book right after the ned vs. jaime scene from the show. Gangster stuff

Because as everyone suspects
Spoiler:
Jon is Lyanna and Raegar's son. So they probably want to save that reveal sometime later on in the series, which is why they never delved into it that much. Although I'm not sure how they're going to reveal his parentage seeing as Howland Reed is the only other person that would know Lyanna's secret.

And this is the one instance in which I would want HBO to milk GRRM's work. A mini-series dedicated to Robert's Rebellion would be awesome. Hell even the Greyjoy Rebellion would be cool to see as well as the D&G. They could show the Tower of Joy scene revealing what she told Ned.

I would want to be a member of the Faceless if I were in that world. Hopefully at some point that's where Arya will end up? That would be bad ass.

Wouldn't shock me if parts of book 4 &5 are integrated into this season. Also see some changes due to contractual agreements.
