If Parker returns, look for Philly's own Amile Jefferson to transfer.

I've always figured Parker at pretty much 50/50 to stay or declare. If we end up in foruth and pick Vonleh I really won't be heartbroken. In some ways Wiggins scares me, like there is just something missing there. Embiid and the back might be an issue. Exum looks good in the little bit I have seen, but it has sounded for a while like he is going to try and force his way to LA. I don't really want a guy who doesn't want to be here. Vonleh has already exceeded development expectations for his freshman seasons and has the size and skills to set in next to Noel for the next dozen years. He may be more Bosh level than true franchise level, but at this point I'm not sure any of the top guys are true franchise guys.

As long as we land in the top 3, I still think were looking good. Wiggins,Embiid,Exum are all great prospects, and Randle/Gordon/Vonleh as consolation prizes aren't exactly debilitating possibilities either.
Ive said it before and ill say it again.... Despite Wiggins and Embiid getting all the praise as the top guys in the draft (and rightfully so), I still think theres considerable upside to the next 4-5 guys that we will likely have to choose from. (Exum,Randle,Gordon,Vonleh,Smart)
Some may have bigger flaws then others, but with proper development and a little luck, any of them could realistically end up being stars in a few years.
While this is true, I will still prob cry if we don't end up with Wiggins.
Yea me too....just trying to be optimistic and look at the silver lining of a let down.

well put. Also think Gordon and Randle both have considerable upside IF properly developed.

Over Randle? No way.

People like his 7'4" wingspan and the fact that he will require less usage to be effective than Randle. Both will be good players.

If Parker stays in school, he has more than Marcus Smart risk. With Okafor and the rest of the 2015 Duke recruits coming in, he could be over shadowed even if the team wins the Tournament. He should come out. I keep coming back to Billy Owens as a comparable college player but Owens was a better facilitator, I think. I don't love Parker.
I like Stauskas better than the other 12 - 20 wing players because he's a cold blooded shooter. One bounce at the foul line and that ball is up and in. That being said, I'm not sure he belongs in the top 12 picks.

“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

I wouldn't take Nik with a top 15 pick. But I like him a hell of alot better than Gary Harris.

While I somewhat agree on Stauskas..... The majority of the wings in that ballpark really don't stick out that much to trump him as a possibility imo.
Theres much better athletes, but most lack the shooting/polish of Stauskas' game.(he's only 20 n a soph)

Who do you have ranked ahead of him?
your 11-15
just curious, because when I look at the list....literally nobody sticks out and clear cut choices.
Montrezl Harrell is probably one of my favorite guys in that ballpark followed by Capela...outside of that, its a coin flip

Wiggins and Grant...great length and versatility on both ends of the court.

Grant can't shoot at all... MCW-Wiggins-Grant-Thad-Noel
Sure wed be long and athletic, but Thad(32%) and Wiggins(34% College) would be our best shooters....not sure thats a good thing. Defenses would pack the paint and dare us to shoot jumpers/3's just like they've been doing and we would have no answer for it, especially in the half-court set.
Sure MCW could improve his jumper, but I'm not expecting him to blossom into a 37+% 3PT shooter in the next year or so. Wiggins can shoot, but he seems like more of a spot up guy right now.
I know athleticism and length are great attributes.....and defensive potential is factored in,but this teams going to need balance. This offense and MCW/Noel pick n rolls aren't going anywhere without guys keeping the D honest with a respectable outside jumper and a guy with some type of post game.

I like the sound of this. Stauskas could be a secondary ball-handler/facilitator and Wiggins would excel in the Thad role (threes, transition, o boards, occasional iso/post-up).
"Bob Cooney was on Fox Philly news last night with Howard Eskin and he said some GMs don't like Hinkie because he doesn't follow the "old boys club rules". He mentioned Hinkie doesn't return some of the other GM's phone calls."

I would take Vonleh over Randle if it came down to those two. Longer, taller, better defensively with a nice shooting touch out to the college three point line. More raw than Randle now, but definitely more potential to be a prototypical power forward in today's NBA. I like Randle and would take him over Gordon, but he is going to have to alter his game a lot to succeed at the NBA level.

I know Parker loves Duke and enjoys college, but he really needs to declare.
He has nothing to gain by returning to school other than possibly winning a national championship, which is all a crap shoot anymore anyway.

I think he's staying at Duke to playing in the front court with his good friend Jalil Okafor. I can see Parker establishing himself at the 4 next year ending the talk of if he's a tweener.

Except at the NBA level where he will remain a tweener unless he grows a couple of inches. As it is he can't guard any position so his position doesn't matter all that much.

At least he's an outstanding rebounder and a decent shotblocker. I think he can hold his own at the 4.
