Re: ATL: Offseason
You would have gotten the contract he was initially signed too but as a NG kind of basis. PHI woulda been on the hook got the G'd cash (signing bonus).

Also odd that a team worried about character issues employs Riley Cooper.
Other than being a bit of an annoyance in the locker room at times, I haven't heard anything bad about him, especially in a criminal nature.
I'm it's the same guy who did this not too long ago.

His antics on the field are no worse than what Swaggy P does in an NBA game, but at least he can back it up.
Was reading about his connections, and they seem rather circumstantial. If someone grew up in a rough neighborhood in LA (don't remember if it was South Central), then they would certainly know people in a gang.
I think it's more that Kelly and crew don't like his self-centered personality, released him, and are now playing up these circumstances. Like Schiano with Freeman.

By the sound of it he was simply a diva WR. Late to practice, missed meetings. Kelly didn't want it in his locker room. Can you blame him?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if that was it. However, it still seems kinda dirty by the Eagles/media to throw these gang allegations out as a reason to drop him though.

That's fine if they wanted to release him for that. I just think leaking that story about Jackson's so-called gang ties was low.

Apparently Desean Jackson's deal with the Redskins is for 3 years / $24 million. It would be nice if that is 'good news' for us on the contract front. If we could keep Cobb and/or Nelson at right around $8-$10 million I'll be pretty happy.

I'd be pretty damn thrilled if we could get Cobb or Nelson at $8-10 million a year.

Sherman makes some fair observations about the Desean Jackson situation, but man am I sick of that guy. Seems like he can't go more than a couple of weeks without stirring some controversy or doing something to jump back in the spotlight. Hope he gets lit up this year.

I agree on both ends. However, it's easy. To shut him up, beat him.
I can't believe Philly gave Cooper a contract, while releasing Jackson. If you are going to let DeSean go, claiming his poor attitude/behavior then you can't retain Cooper.

Well you can, and it's two completely different circumstances. The players forgave and welcomed Cooper back, while DeSean continually disrespected his head coach and put himself ahead of the team. All about chemistry in the locker-room. Pretty rational way of looking at it.

Brandon Marshall was accepted into Harvard Business School. No word on whether he'll matriculate.

It's a four day seminar in May, he'll probably do it.

Just read its pretty much BS. It's crazy how news outlets will run with something before checking facts.

In this day and age it is all about being first, not about being accurate.
