Bout time. Our first legit Heat player in the Hall.

Technically though, Gary Payton was the first "Hall of Fame" member that played in a Heat uniform at any point in time.

But I don't really count that.

Zo,

I watched you with the Bobcats and followed you to the Heat. With Riley as coach and you as center, I knew the Heat franchise would be a force to be reckoned with in the NBA. So happy you won a gold medal in the Olympics and with the signings of Jones and Grant, man, all Miami Heat personnel and fans were walking on clouds. Then, it was pulled out from under you, but even then you showed you would not give in and fought back, and fortune smiled on you. Forever bless your donor.
You earned your championship and ring and the Hall of Fame.

Congrats Zo, I remember arguing against others saying how Zo is not even Hall of Fame worthy. Well he made it on the first ballot,,,, BOOOOM!!! I hope they display a big picture of ZO Flexing lol in his hall of fame.

Now on the sad note, why do voters feels they have a plat form to make a statement when voting someone career accomplishments. Its sad that Tim Hardaway was not voted in because of his anit-gay comments. Tim Hardaway for most of that Zo and Timmy combo, was the leader and the number one guy on the team. He was running the offense, and taking all the big shots. He was the lead player in the TMZ tandem in Golden State who all are in the Hall of Fame except for Tim. And to make matters worse if you guys didnt now Tim Hardaway Backup in Golden State was voted in this years Hall of Fame Sarunas Marciulionis over Timmy.

My favorite athlete ever. Never in my wildest dreams did I think he'd make it as a first ballot. Riley is the brains behind this franchise, Zo is the soul. The identity and culture that this franchise has cultivated throughout the years, Zo was the first face of the franchise to carry it.

This is awesome! I'm a Grizz fan but Alonzo Mourning became my favorite player during his second tenure with the Heat. This was after I learned of his comeback from kidney disease. I admired him for that and was so happy to see him earn that ring. There were alot of haters who would like to say that he had no chance of making it because he was never "dominant" and yada yada, but I never had any doubt!

I even made this Zo mix back in the day: I think it was my first and last mix ever. lol
