No, absorbing contrats for picks or prospects is what a smart team does.

Delaying our cap space for a year whilst adding a solid vet and pick(s)/prospect(s) is something that many contending teams have done.

Using our cap space and future flexibility to overpay for a good player is a bad idea imo.

Trading Henderson+Haywood/Taylor+seconds to take on Bargnani's last year at 12m+Hardaway jr./Shumpert+first rounder or a similiar deal is a possibility with the new CBA.

Taking on a one year deal is smart considering how overrated this FA class is.

Use MLE type money to sign Sessions and use the mins to re-sign CDR/Tolliver/Adrien

Derrick Brown is also worthy of a shot again imo.

Kemba/Sessions/Lavine
Neal/Hardaway jr./Lavine
MKG/CDR/Tolliver
McRoberts/Zeller/Bargnani
Jefferson/Biyombo/Haywood

If we do absorb another bad contract for a pick like we did Gordon I at least hope that it is someone that can contribute in some facet of the game and not just get paid 8 figures to ride the bench. Expiring contracts aren't valuable at all trade wise in the new CBA.

They're valuable if you let them expire.

Taking on a year of him being overpaid for longterm salary going out plus a guy on a cheap rookie deal+ a pick is something that it possible.

Phil is looking for win now talent and some flexibility, Bargnani was just an example based on that fact.

The reality is that if we hold off for a year then we can re-sign Kemba and still have max cap space even if Al takes up his option.

Perfectly timed for the FA classes coming up, which actially will have awesome talent.

We should consider AJ Price right now over Ridnour.

Your point was great though, it is absolutely painful to see a guy getting paid so much, without hitting the court ala Gordon, and if we did take on a salary dump, you'd hope if they hit the court, that they could produce in some capacity.

So we are mentioned among expected candidates of pursuing Pau Gasol. Thoughts?

As long as Big Al is here it seems like an awkward fit.

I guess as the stretch 4, he isn't the greatest defender, but either is Mcbob.

I noticed ever since we got cho that we are mentioned with almost all big rumours.

I can see him going to Dallas to create the vanilla towers

would like to have him to play 25 min per game mainly with the bench to give some scoring and stability there. dont think he would be interested in that role with us though.

Pao now 33. The age of becoming injury prone. One of my favorite players a couple years ago, but I don't see how he will be worth the contract we will need to sign him to.

While I miss Sesh, I don't see mgmt resigning him. There's a reason he was traded. Ridnour is not the answer, but either is going back to someone who won't pass.

Jeff Adrien, on the other hand, now there is a dude we should resign. He put up 19 & 12 last night.

who does Adrien play in front of though? C Rex is earning his stripes, McBob isn't going anywhere and I don't think you want him playing center in place of Biz.

Adrien don't need to play in front of anybody. Just be quality depth. Injuries happen and I don't want to be stuck with a DJ White caliber player receiving rotational minutes when they do. Honestly I think Zeller starts next year and Adrien could give McBob a run for his money as a backup. That is if he don't opt out and find greener pastures in which I doubt.

Look at the numbers. Adrien is a legit player in this league. I always liked him and I thought his 19 PER with us was just a thing from playing very limited minutes but he's sustained that level of play getting heavy minutes for the Bucks.

DJ White's second ten day will be coming up soon. Don't resign him.
Sign Tim Ohlbrecht, 25 yo 6'11" 250# C
BBIQ, good mobility, 80% free throws, backstory as German star who hit the D League to pursue his NBA dream would be a good fit alongside guys like CDR & Co., had NBA minutes with HOU, good fit at C3 for us imo.
