He still has a lot of work to do in that (ball handling) aspect.

If the Heat signed him and he went to the D-league and learned how to play Miami Heat BBALL, he would've been paid NBA money also.

He would have made more money here but I believe players develop better overseas (if they're dedicated). Its one thing to be the star of a team overseas, with fans cheering your name and playing for something that matters like an NBL championship. Then being signed by an NBA team, cast off to Sioux Falls (have fun over there), and playing basketball games that have less energy than a high school game.

There might be better coaching here, but the psychological damage it may cause to a player is much worse than any hindrance from playing overseas.

It has more to do with roster spots than anything else. If Miami signs him and then sends him down to the NBDL, he would account for one of the 15 roster spots in order to keep his rights.

With us being in championship mode, having roster flexibility to sign the Oden's and/or Beasley's of the world or have an opportunity at the buyout deadline with the Granger's, Big Baby's etc. is more valuable than locking in a roster spot on a rookie that needs work and development and will not contribute right away.

By allowing him to go overseas to develop without giving him a contract, we are allowed to keep his NBA rights. He still develops his game based on what the coaches suggested and allows for a Summer League reunion to determine if he is worth that NBA salary.

Not sure if you guys aware, but i thought this was very ordinary of Ennis, even though he has been huge for our local league this season.

Goulding was my pick.

Both Goulding and Ennis could be in the NBA next season.

That's a big call. Sure he has his moments, like that first flury of game 1 v 36ers.. But there would be so many guys not in the NBA who have the ability to get theirs. There's more to it than scoring to get in NBA. See Pierre Jackson.

"Wins don't matter," eh? See, in another world, that tweet taken out of context portrays Ennis as an extremely selfish and narrow-minded individual. But I can see the context. He feels he deserved the MVP and rightfully so. However, even so, it's more than just scoring, James.

That plays a big part, but a more complete player doesn't depend solely on scoring. Rebounding, passing, defense, the whole nine yards. That's important too.

I am almost sure that he was being sarcastic with that tweet. Either way, while I think it was a poor display (if true), you have to admit, it is kind of funny.

Ennis and the Wildcats won the NBL title today. He was underwhelming in the Finals series against the 36ers, but nonetheless, he wins a title.

I am sure he will be looking at the Heat next season, and vice versa.

Early foul trouble in the 3rd and final game though enjoyed watching both home games!

Great to be from Perth yesterday...

So according to Wikipedia, James Ennis is playing in the Puerto Rican league (BSN) for the Piratas de Quebradillas now? Can any of our Puerto Rican fans confirm this? Not big deal, just called my attention since Summer League play starts sometime in July and was wondering if BSN play might prevent him from joining any Heat SL play.

I've read on wiki that he left Pirates sometime in June to attend NBA workouts.

I've also found his BSN stats which can be found here: http://basketball.latinbasket.com/team/ ... 963?Page=3 Don't know how to post his stats only so it's the whole team actually.

3PT% is low and dropped a whole 10% since his Wildcats season, but it's a small sample size anyway so I think it's nothing to worry about.

Can't wait to see him in SL.
