Clippers have legit shot at #2 overall seed

Post#1 » by marcusaurelius » Mon Apr 7, 2014 4:27 am

OKC just lost, so I believe that they are now somewhat vulnerable (to move down). They play Tues at Sac, then are at Clippers on Wed. Clippers get a couple days rest. Sets up perfectly for the Clippers to take the #2 west seed from them. If the Clippers can win out. Not guaranteed, but pretty good shot.

Also, being tied with Miami now, Clippers could get home court against the east. I doubt Miami wins all their remaining games (six).

Get everyone back healthy for the playoffs, and I think that the stars could be aligning just right. Reddick has looked better than I thought he would this quick. Davis has been fairly mediocre, but he is a veteran, and I expect him to play at least reasonably well in the playoffs. If he comes back, I expect some solid veteran play from Granger too.

Wednesday's game should be really fun. If we win out, OKC has to lose one more time. Looking at their current schedule, that could most likely happen either on Apr.13 @Indiana (if they get their act together) or the very next day @New Orleans.

After we lost against Dallas, I was at peace with the 3rd seed and just resting guys . However, since we do get some extra days off and the schedule seems to favor us, why not go for it. Having home advantage in at least 3/4 rounds would be huge.

Other than us, OKC have a pretty easy schedule left, with Indiana falling down and the Pelicans on a losing streak (what happened to them?!? a couple weeks ago, when they beat us, they were looking like a playoff team). So even if we beat them, they're still one game up on the loss column.

It would be nice to have home court in the 2nd round, but it'd be even nicer if they had to match up against the Grizzlies in the first round. Then we'd meet them when they're banged up and tired, and probably half injured.

On the other hand, I want us to beat the Grizzlies ourselves, even though we'd be the ones banged up and injured when we face them. I don't really know which match ups I prefer anymore.

We have to win Wednesday. They have 2 less L's than we do and other than the game vs us they really might not lose another game. I would love to jump to 2 though. We've been close so many times recently

All I care about is the loss column between us and Indiana/Miami.

I care more about beating OKC to make a statement than even getting the number 2 spot.

Born and raised in Los Angeles and a 8 year season ticket holder 8-) it's great trolling people on the general board because no one associates Philly with any super biases. But at my root I'm actually a bigger Lakers fan...but Lakers fans are idiots so I'm ashamed of them. And I don't post on the Clippers forum because both realgm and topbuzz are kind of dead.

P.S. I live in Philly now and am ALSO a 2 time season ticket holder there. And yes, I did speak to Mullens at a Sixers event about this :lol:

Only 5 threads on this board have even had posts todays brah. :lol: :crazy: and the main active threads are always the "star of the game" threads here, which require absolutely no level of intellectual thought. If I go to the Raptors board the entire page basically refreshes every hour. The Bulls board on realgm has pretty high quality overall as well. For a team who's a top 4-5 favorite to win a championship, the traffic is pretty pathetic.

And Topbuzz has too much activity? On what level? :lol: It takes me around 3 minutes to read all the posts in a week on topbuzz.

again, get your trolling ass outta here. you are not welcomed, and you are not needed. i don't buy it for a second that a guy who is sporting 6ers avatar is somehow a clipper fan because you said so. have some pride and go post in your 6ers forum regardless how bad they are now.

as for what deems active or not, is subjective. i prefer the rate of my beloved realGM Clippers as i have manned long enough in truly a dead forum of PSD clippers for years, TopBuzz is just not my cup of tea with many posters bickering.

as for us, your trolling ass is the only reason for any negativity, as i have said, we have been here long before you ever showed up. get your bandwagon hopping ass outta here. not welcomed, and not needed. :noway:

Clippers need to win out to have a chance at the #2 seed, that would give them 59 wins. Of course they will have to beat OKC if that is to happen.

The question is if the Clippers beat OKC, who else will beat them? If the Clippers win out, they win 59 games. If OKC goes 5-1 (losing to the Clippers), they win 60 games. SA beating OKC and then Phoenix beating them would have been perfect, but with SA loosing, another of these remaining teams has to also beat OKC.

@Sacramento (last 10: 4-6, streak: lost 2)
New Orleans (last 10: 5-5, streak: lost 5)
@Indiana (last 10: 3-7, streak: lost 2)
@New Orleans
Detroit (last 10: 3-7, streak: won 1)

Those teams aren't the best candidates to help the Clippers out, so the chances don't look great. For the Clippers, Sacramento and Denver at home should be fine, but the Clippers end the season @ Portland, which will not be an easy win.

1) How is me saying that this forum has bad activity trolling? It's a fact. Ask on the general board. Being defensive about it only shows that you guys need to do a better effort in getting more Clippers fans online in a very special moment in their team history.

2) Just because you don't know what trolling is, here we go: Image

Now how would I have access to that if I wasn't a season ticket holder? FYI, read my personally composed email just for you <3

3) If your definition of "a lot" of bickering is like 8 people...Lord have mercy on how you manage to live in Los Angeles. FYI, King Taco, Rick Brunson. Proof of my LA/Clipper roots.

If anything, you are the troll holding back the fanbase when loyal PAYING customers like me who help ACTUALLY support the organization instead of trashing fans online. And this is the reason why I won't be active participating on these forums...instead I guess I'll just be having my friends taking photos and chatting with Blake Griffin, which just happened earlier this year ;) benefits of being friends with a Clippers season ticket holder who doesn't live in LA.

But I am posting this from Anaheim (mods can check my IP) so I may catch a first round game or two myself.

first you have the philly's avatar, then you actually admit that you are a troll.

FYI, a person that admits to trolling other people openly and for your own amusement, is a troll.

and you are actually a Laker Fan? cleverly disguised as a 6er's fan? but somehow you are also a Clipper fan? but you don't like posting here because there is no traffic to meet your standards? again, a classic troll trolling for your own amusement.

what? ask the general board, the same general board you openly admit that you troll, to prove that you are not a troll? :crazy:

again, since we don't meet your "activity approval", how about that you stop providing us with your holy presence?
why keep posting to say you don't post here because there is no posting going on around here?

simply, GTFO and stay out. consider this the last time i feed this troll. after that, will be flagged. :D

Really makes no difference if someone has an opinion we should all be able to discuss. As far as having homecourt over the east we have to crawl before we run. Love this team but getting through the west will take an insane level of play and some luck.
