Impressive start for tanaka.

7 innings, 2 ER, 8 Ks

After a rocky start, dude was dominating as the innings went on.. Including a 6 pitch inning lol

Yankees are really lucky.

Pineda looks good today, too, as he did all spring. Just in the couple months of guys actually throwing, the bottom end of the rotation looks better than the top.

Braves chase Strasburg after 4.1 innings! Up 6-2 after 5. Back to back rough starts for the Stras to open up the season.

I was at the game and it's unbelievable how mentally weak Stras is. It's the same crap as last year. He rolls early, then one guy behind him in the infield(as usual Ryan Zimmerman who CAN NOT play 3B anymore)makes an error and he completely unravels.

I love Stras but I don't know if he's an Ace. He's got all the stuff in the world but the dude can't clamp down when things get tough, and the Braves always seem to beat him up. If you wanna be an Ace you gotta shut down the best teams.

Oh well, at least we didn't get swept. Still plenty of baseball left, but Stras and Harper struggling are a concern. I think Harps will figure it out though. And of course Zimmerman has shoulder inflamation again. Dude is finished, I don't think he can play in the infield anymore unless it's at 1B and there is no way we can sit Laroach consdiering he's one of our three best hitters at the moment and is a Gold Glove caliber defender himself.

This is going to sound ridiculous and almost downright impossible, but I wonder if there's even a hint of a trade market for Mark Teixeira.

I would give anything for the Yanks to unload him, even if it meant still paying half his salary.

If there was a market for Vernon Wells, there will be one for Teixeira. :)

Strong words. I agree, and it doesn't help that Strasburg is so fragile physically too.

Last I checked, Barry Bonds had more home runs than Hank Aaron.

Oh, and this might seem a bit early, but...

Is it just me, or is everyone pretty damn mediocre this year?

Hank never had to juice to get his HRs though.

Hopefully it's just a matter of him refinding himself after the injury, because last year before he went out he was as good as he's ever been, it looked like it was coming together finally, now he's back to the guy from before

Okay, but 762 is more than 755.

I saw a graphic recently that said Miggy was on pace to break both their records, and he's clean (as far as we know.) Pretty sad that we have to include little statements like this really.

Assuming Miggy stays healthy/on track, I'd love for him to have the record. He's just a likable guy now that his booze issues are done with.

That graphic is wrong because he would have to hit 40 homers a year until he's 41. He's only done that twice in 12 years.
