- Should we look into buying or acquiring a pick in this year's draft?
- Who are some players available in the late 1st round/early 2nd round that we could realistically target?
- Will Brook Lopez be traded?
- Should we (and will we) re-sign Shaun Livingston & Andray Blatche?
- Should we re-sign Pierce? If so, for how long?
- In the event that KG retires, what should we do to replace him?
- Is Billy King really the 28th worst GM in the league? If no, how much closer to dead last is he?
Anyway, let's discuss all of these things while Billy King holds the fate of the Nets future in his hands.

I'll address the easy decisions first:
Contracts1) Pierce. no brainer, we offer him 1 year 15M and he takes it or leaves it. under no circumstance do we give him a second year unless its a team only option that we can void. We cant have his money gauranteed on the cap in 15-16. It would give us no shot at getting under the taxline to make sign and trade deals. We nee dthat flexibility should Durant/Love become available
2) I think the better question is can we sign livingston and Kirilenko. both would require the mMLE. Blatche, we have his bird rights, and signing one of those two would have no bearing on it.
3) Blatche... if he will take a 2 year deal, or 2 year deal with a team option in year 3 i think we sign him. Otherwise, we have to let him go. We simply can not afford to have his money on the 16-17 cap. it would kill our chances at signing one of the big free agents. So like pierce its simple. offer him the max we can for 2 years + 1 year team option and he takes it or leaves it
4) I'd like anderson back, but he may get more then the minimum from someone. I think we pick up gutierez option since its nothing. I doubt collins is back.
5) Bogdanovic. he'd require the mMLE. He wont get it unless we say goodbye to AK and livingston. i think we just leave him over there or end up trading his rights
6) how do we replace KG if he leaves? I'd start plumlee. clearly we can win with plumlee at center. we are like 17-6 with him starting in KG's absence and he is only gonna get better. Then we just need a backup. if Blatche leaves and brook is traded we could look and see if perkins would take a minimum contract or if not see if some other vet big would play here for a small deal
7) Damare Carrol. he is unrestricted. if we lose livingston and AK id ofer him the full mMLE. he could replace those as solid defending role playing energy guy
Trades & Draft
1) Lopez. If someone gives us a top 12-14 pick and mostly expirings i make the deal. In any deal for brook i will NOT take:
-Young players who will NOT still be on their rookie deal in 16-17
-any veteran who doesnt expire before 16-17
Basically, we need a pick and expiring money or a player who will be on his rookie deal in 16-17. We simply cant take on salary in 16-17, and getting a good young player is great, but if we have to give that player 6-8M in 16-17 it ruins our chances at free agents in that big offeseason. Ideally i'd trade brook at the draft for a pick and as much expiring money as possible
2) Do we buy a pick? Yes. absolutely. if only for the asset and player on a rookie deal
3) who should we target? i assume a pick we buy would be in the 28-40 range. guys i'd look at are:
-Patric Young. tons of athletecism and upside. super athlete
-Laquinton Ross. Good ahtlete, good size. 2/3 tweener kinda like johnson but more ahtletic and can shoot
-Clint Capella. 6'11 with sick hops. only seen him play a couple times but he has plumlee like leaping ability
-Shabazz napier if he dropped to the low 20's
