You have great points here but I think you should quote Howard Mass so he can see it. He's said the next time they update the site, they'll look into making the "Favorite Team" logos into links to their respective forums. That itself would have brought in tons of traffic.wm3 wrote:I'm more on the wagon of agreeing with others like WD, Altered_Beast, whitehops & Vertical Limit have said
I'm not a Fins fan (personal reason) but the football forums on RealGM have no activity what so ever. Outside of the Packers forum & the General NFL board (slightly) the rest is a dead zone in there
I'm a 49ers fan and during the season, the last post on that board for a while was in September of 2013. Similar to how majority of Heat fans post on the Heat board about Dolphins related things, Golden State fans did the same thing when it comes to 49ers related things
I feel like the NFL forums on RealGM need a new makeover with the layouts. I love the new changes for the basketball forum but every board on the Football forum has that same green layout. Also some of the Football icons vertically look very small or blurry like the Steelers, Cowboys, Seahawks, & Vikings

Re: OT: Miami Football!
Guys,
i'm well aware things have been dead over there but I feel the MyForums feature where users can customize their own forum page will drive traffic there.
We want this place to be a one stop shop for all of you to talk about your favorite sports teams.
Feel free to get some discussion going with The Draft coming up.. It would go a long way.

i'll try to stir up some draft talk but I fear with the playoffs coming up soon most people are going to have their attention on that.

I think it's still faster to get around using the drop-down bar at the top, it only takes one click.
lol the hockey forums are still sorted by the old divisions...
I can see where it might be useful if you have a lot of forums you visit on a regular basis or are mobile, but I usually only read this forum and the GB with the occasional foray into other teams boards. I just open a couple of tabs and switch between them. Firefox also has a "most visited" drop down function, bookmark toolbar etc.. that allow you to do the same thing with a single click if you use a window to navigate. Every Browser has similar features. Kinda seems like reinventing the wheel.
What really needs to be fixed is the unread posts function imho. It doesn't always work and is inconsistent, at least for me.

Re: OT: Miami Football!
ive tried the myforums. i really dont see what it accomplishes for dolphins fans in particular. its still one too many clicks to get to a topic you want to see. i understand if the dolphins boards was bursting with activity but to have to navigate to another board to post in a thread where the traffic is barren just doesnt work for us imo. at least not for me.
weve had this miami football topic for a while now and its barely at 20 pages, id rather discuss the phins in random thoughts than having to go to the other forum where most of the posts will go unseen. the UI design is fine there just isnt enough phins fans who want to partake in discussion on here to justify closing this topic
my 2 cents

Altered_Beast,
Posting habits are tough to break.
Our hope is our forums turn into communities like our Milwaukee and Toronto communities where there is discussion on those other forums.
I feel The MyForums option will help with this over time.
Other Team Forums have subforums of their own on Independent teams for their NFL, MLB, and NHL teams.
We want to have this here and maybe other subforums for each community.
I am hopeful MyForums is going to be the solution.

Am I doing something wrong, Howard? I can't seem to make the MyTopics feature work for me.

It's MyForums.
Just go to the bottom of the forum and click on MyForums.
It will then add that forum to your MyForums Page.
Please let me know if you still have trouble.

that's true, I hadn't thought of that. probably because there are only a handful of different forums I visit with regularity.

New Canes uniforms. I like them except for the new helmets. I saw in some other photos that they're still keeping the old ones though, which is good.
