The Johnny Most posting is wonderful. I watched that live, but it's fun to reminisce. You forget how completely over the top he'd get.

There really is no excuse for the bitter, hateful stuff about Dumars. A legendary Piston who has given his heart and soul to the team for almost 30 years, and who in no way lacks in accomplishments? This crap makes you sound like a bunch of shallow ingrates. Yeah, I know, not lately, but take into account the body of work. He ought to be allowed to "ride off into the sunset" with some dignity.

Dumars deserves respect and thanks for what he did for the Pistons but his time is definitely done. Villanueva and Gordon followed by Smith and Jennings sealed his fate. I have no ill feelings for him but it's clear that he's making bad decisions that are hurting the organization.

Business for this week has ended. Probably busy negotiating his next deal with Gores.

It really doesn't matter - he's done. I suspect he doesn't want to quit on the team and thus will wait until after the season. Either he resigns or is fired on that day though because Gores and the org need to move on and hire a new GM+, fire Loyer etc.

Would you guys really be shocked if he is back next year?

Actually when you work for a corporate position with a NBA team the week is never over. That job is 24/7.

I said this at the beginning of this thread. "I'll believe it when I see it". The media lies about the Pistons so much you never know what to believe.

So, I guess he decided he would just go ahead and pick up another week's check while continuing to do nothing for the team?

Nice column by Mitch Albom this morning. Slanted towards Dumars, but appropriately so. Five years from now we'll know what the real issue is. My belief is Dumars, with a fresh start and the right type of owner, will be winning again (assuming he doesn't want to retire -- he will have other owners requesting his services).

I seriously question whether Gores will be winning here.

I agree with this post. I think Gores is the real problem, I don't think he understands basketball at all. He will run this team like its NBA2K and wonder why we aren't winning.

I really wish Illitch had bought the team instead of Gores.

You know, it's time for a change but I haven't forgot all the good he's done for our franchise. I still believe this team could of worked if we had better coaching. Had this team's defense became what it should of became then we'd be in the playoffs today.

How can be owner's fault? Owners don't need to know nothing about baskekball, they only need to put his money here, the GM are the experts who make sports decisions.

It's all Dumars fault. Anyway, I agree with you, thanks to Dumars for all he did it for this team. Now it's over, we need to look into the future.

I absolutely and 110% agree with these two post(I'm still passing out these And1's like candy). I honestly hope Dumars and Gores spent the weekend, had brunch(you guys know Dumars had doubles ) and conversed about there differences. It always seemed as if Gores had over-stepped his boundaries. I at least want to see what Dumars has planned for our roster through the Jennings/Monroe/Drummond era.

If the media rumors about Dumars resigning as early as this week are correct, today should be Dumars last day as our GM.
