With playoffs right around the corner, things are about to get serious..

Some question marks..

UD's back at the best possible time.

Is Shane getting the UD treatment, resting or what?

Which one of them will start?

Rashard Lewis is avg about 20 min since the loss @ Indy.
Is he here to stay or Spo's just testing him?

Norris Cole vs Toney Douglas: Who will get more burn?
[Unfortunately, looks like Cole's still ahead]

What's up with Wade? 9 games out for a harmstring?
Looks shady, tbh. He even skipped the national TV games.

Is Oden alive? What happened to him?

LeBron, Bosh, Rio, Ray and Bird are locks to play their usual roles.

And we can all agree that:

13. James Jones
14. Justin Hamilton
15. Michael Beasley

Playoff Rotation - What do you expect?

Post#2 » by ReturnofMVP3 » Sat Apr 12, 2014 3:36 pm

It should be

LeBron
Wade
Beas
Bosh
Oden

Off the bench:
Chalmers
Ray
Battier
Haslem
Bird

Or switch Shane and Beas so we have some offense on the second unit. Spo just doesn't get it, his personal feelings seem to drive him over everything else.

I have to politely ask you something, because you used to be a terrific poster here before this season....

Did you talk to Spo or someone close to the Heat? Because you seem to assume its some sort of personal vendetta that our staff is not playing Beasley or Oden. Its reached the point where your last 200 posts center around one thing: Playing Beasley and bashing Spo for not doing so.

I am assuming you know something we dont, so I want to know what Spo has told you about his hate for Beasley? Im assuming its not due to a 20+ year tenured NBA assistant/head coach seeing his roster and putting the best pieces in place. So can you please let the rest of us know?

I can understand oden playing limited. It's been my observation since Beas is rookie year that Spo didn't like him based off rotations. For example Beas could be torching other teams and 6 minutes left in the first quarter he'd be yanked for UD who was great for us at the time but didn't need the development and confidence Beas did. This year he has come back as mainly an offensive choice (as per LeBron) and when he has been played he has been excellent in that yet Spo now chooses to play the likes of Lewis who add no offense or defensive value. It is based of these illogical observations that I feel Spo has some sort of dislike for Beas.

Wether it's personal or not, it doesn't look like Beas will be conttributing at all in the playoffs..

Chalmers
Cole (gotta keep our 2 PG thing going)
LeBron
Reshard (floor spacing)
Bosh

Wade 6th man (part of the process/don't let go of the rope)

Nah but for real probably

Chalmers
Wade
LeBron
Haslem
Bosh

6th Ray
7th Bird
8th Cole
9th whoever backs up LeBron so one of Battier/Reshard/Beas.

Situationally
Oden/Toney/Beas

Either way its going to be great to see the starters minutes bumped up for the playoffs so we can see as little of the Reshard and friends line up as possible.

This is the lineup we´ll be rocking and 3-peating with:

Mario 23-28 MPG
Wade 30-35 MPG
Bron 40-42 MPG
Battier 12-15 MPG
Bosh 32-35 MPG

Bench:
Ray 20-22 MPG
Cole 15-20 MPG
Bird 10-15 MPG
Haslem 5-15 MPG
Oden 5-15 MPG / Potentially Lewis if Oden can´t go.

The 3Peat Trinity:

The Big 3 enough said.

Cole world and cold blooded:

You shake your head, you cringe, but when it matters they show up, know what needs to be executed and Cole has been hardened after last playoff run.

Get those **** ropes out of here:

Mr Haysoos, back against the wall this is the player you want out there.

The rumble tumble soldiers:

Every night they will be fighting, scrapping to get boards, blocking out, and banging with bigger stronger players.

Team B.I.G:

Small front court they said, we´re going to use it to our strength they said...

-------------

B-easy, Lewis and Douglas I doubt will play much at all barring injuries, fatigue, blowouts first two rounds.

chalmers
wade
lebron
haslem
bosh

birdman
allen
battier
cole
douglas/rashard

beasley/oden/jj/hamilton

douglas/rashard i think will be situational/matchup type players if they play but spo sometimes digs deep into the bench. i would not be surprised if oden or beasley play some minutes in the playoffs.
but i think we are gonna be looking at the same lineups as last years sans mike miller (more cole and rashard)

The only way I give Lewis a pass for this season is if he hits 4 or more threes in a one playoff/ final game the Heat need to win.

I honestly believe that it will depend on whomever we are matched up with. We could actually see some Beasley in one series, and none in the next. Some Oden in three games, and possibly never again afterwards. I'll never forget the 20-9 run we went on because of him when the Pistons came to town a few weeks ago.

Spo is unpredictable when it comes to the playoffs honestly and it's a good and bad thing

Depending on match ups like someone else says, anyone can play

We might see Beasley, Lewis, Douglas, etc. It matters how well the starters and bench play as well as match ups.

I mean one minute he will play a guy a whole series and then not play him at all because of who we are facing and how well they are playing. Especially if a guy is struggling and he is replaceable, spo yanks him but that is mostly for bench players such as UD and Shane for example

But the people who are a lock to play are

LBJ
Wade
Bosh
Rio
Birdman
Cole (if he **** up Douglas will come in)
Ray
Shane
UD (only if he plays well)

Wild cards are Lewis, Beas and Oden. I really hope Beas plays, he is our best bench player and I don't know why people are in denial about it

Never seen that lineup...My goodness Spo is just wasting these dudes away man. 2nd unit is fine. Keep one of the big three on the floor at all times. I love your lineups.

i can not see oden starting or even playing in the playoffs, unless its a specific matchup, and even then i dont see him playing more than 10mpg.

rotation will be

rio/cole
wade/ray
bron/battier?
bosh/bron
ud/bird/bosh

hopefully cole is on a real short leash

As for beasley, I don't want him playing one second in the playoffs, he belongs on the inactive list.

It depends on the matchups but i wouldnt be surprised to see Cole and Lewis play extended mins. I wonder if Wade is back back or if its one good game out of 3 for him. Either way we need Wade

My thing with Beasley is that everything Lewis can do, Beasley can do better. Essentially, if Lewis doesn't see the floor I could understand Beasley not seeing the floor but there's no way Lewis should be playing over him.

I want no two PG lineups. I want less Cole. I think UD or Battier starting should depend on the matchup.

I want almost no Cole and all of his minutes should go to Douglas. Norris Cole since Feb 1:

GP: 35
FG%: 35.1
3 PT% 28.8%
FT: 69%
1.3 rebounds
2.5 assists
1.3 TOVs

In the month of April:

GP: 7
FG%: 31.4
3 PT% 20% (no not a TYPO)
FT: 0%
1.6 rebounds
3.6 assists
0.9 TOVs

I think our crunch-time lineup will/should be:

Rio/Allen
Wade
Battier
LeBron
Bosh

or if we are playing bigger teams:

Rio/Allen
Wade
LeBron
Bosh
Bird

He better be fully back. This year I don't think we will survive the ECF/Finals if we get one good game out of 3 Wade. I think that was the whole point of resting him though. I am expecting a consistent 20/5/5 from him. Maybe it's a tad optimistic but if he is healthy I can easily see him averaging 20-25 PPG on good efficiency along with a few big games where him and LeBron blow the other team out.

Wade will at least need to be 2012 playoffs Wade for us to have a chance at winning.

If Lewis is in our rotation in the playoffs, we won't go far.

No Lewis or Cole period. They're negative players......a **** up waiting to happen. Any other coach would have at least benched Cole and held him accountable for his trash play. Spoelstra plays the cool guy who wants to be buddy buddy and holds no one accountable because the team has repeated.

I think we go with

Starters
PG-Mario Chalmers
SG-Dwyane Wade
SF-LeBron James
PF-Udonis Haslem
C-Chris Bosh

Reserves
6th-Ray Allen
7th-Norris Cole
8th-Chris Andersen
9th-Shane Battier

(Not So) Bold Predictions

-Chris Bosh will prove me right and really break out this year in the playoffs and remind everyone that he's still a part of the Big 3. He'll be the x-factor
-Dwyane Wade will be healthy throughout the playoffs and be around 22-5-4 on 36mpg
-Greg Oden will be a non-factor, unfortunately.
-Mario Chalmers will have 2 games of 16 or more and make some very timely shots down the stretch
Super Eagles GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Return to Miami Heat
