Also our fan base seems to have zero confidence going into the playoffs. Most of our posters are still pissed we didn't tank this year. We spent the entire season debating the merits of tanking vs making the playoffs and retaining Lowry. It's a tough franchise to cheer for after all the years of mismanagement and soft "stars" like Carter, Bosh and Bargnani. This is the first time we actually have a tough promising core and they're young as hell.

Anyways: some of us are a lot more levelheaded. Don't judge all of Canada because of our (Please Use More Appropriate Word) teenage demographic.

I commented that your team deserves the to go to the playoffs and their are a select few of you that portray yourself as fans of baskeball and fans of your team,I have no problem with them. Its the other 90% that Iam talking about. Its no secreat that your team gets a bad rap around RG.

Sadly this is pretty accurate. The game threads are the most bi-polar things I've ever read in my life.

There are actually a decent amount of Pistons fans in other parts of Canada. I'm from out west originally and I know some guys who love the Pistons. (as well as some other classic teams: Lakers, Celtics, Knicks, Bulls, Cavaliers)

Anyways, I hope you guys get Wiggins. Crossing the border to watch him and Drummond dominate the Central Division would easily make Detroit my second team. Good luck this offseason. You guys deserve some good fortune after what Dumars has put you through since '04.

Thanks and the same to you,you definitly are the type of fan that your fanbase should model itself after and your welcome around here anytime we play you guys.

On a side note, can we borrow Masai from you guys for like 1 year?

If we had him, our lineup would look like this.

Curry/Siva
Thompson/KCP
Wiggins/Gallinari
Monroe/Randle
Drummond/Plumlee

I don't know how Masai does it, but damn would our team ball with him as our GM!

Its really no mystery,he uses common sense and seems to be moving away from the style of placating players. This league has become a daycare, then what it used to be,A MANS GAME.

These boards represent such a small sample size of an actual fan base.

Masai is off limits. He's our real MVP. He only goes for character guys who play within a team concept. He seems to like defensive players, and guys who can shoot it. Derozan has thrived as a playmaker this year playing with guys who can actually space the floor around him. The moves Masai has made since coming in have turned us around.

- He got us Novak (who barely plays) along with two NY 2nd Rounders, and their 2016 first rounder for the abomination that is Andrea Bargnani's albatross contract.

- Then he flipped Rudy Gay, Aaron Gray and Quincy Acy (a pretty good hustle PF we picked in the 2nd round last year, he'll find a spot in this league) for Vasquez, Patterson, Salmons and Hayes.

- He signed Hansbrough to a cheap contract. He picked up De Colo for Austin Daye at the deadline.

Everything he's done is safe moves that are for small contracts, team oriented players, and future assets. He's done a great job for a guy who walked into a pretty big mess.

We're looking good going forwards with Derozan (24), Ross (23) and Valanciunas (21) all having plenty of room for growth. Lowry's hitting his prime, Johnson (who you guys should have never traded) is a defensive menace when he's healthy. (which he's not right now) Patterson and Vasquez look like nice role players off the bench. We need some backup wings because we play Derozan WAY too much. Other than that we're well on our way to being one of the better teams in the East for the next 5 years.

I think its morev that your fanbase has no clue what they are talking about whenever they try to rip on him.

My friend don't talk about delusional fan bases yours is extremely small.
Most on the Raptors aren't cutting up Drummond but he and Jonas are the 2 best young Cs in the game right now but totally different playing styles.
Both are maturing and both have very few plays run for them.
Drummond outplayed Jonas today no doubt but in the other match-ups it was different.
Since I started the Drummond & Jonas thread on the Raptor board it was for information and I see nothing bad about comments about Drummond.
We know they are likely 2 of the top young Cs in the game but play extremely different games.

Drummond is a very high % shooter that PER loves shooting .626 from the 2P

In Feet 0-3 3-10 10-16 16<3pt
FG % .683 .375 .250 .000
% Shots .819 .159 .011 .001

All of Drummonds stats http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... man01.html

Jonas
In Feet 0-3 3-10 10-16 16<3pt
FG% .678 .481 .397 .351
% Shots .419 .370 .121 .088

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... njo01.html

Lots of interesting statistics to compare but shows that Drummond has little range but is extremely efficient to 3ft partially because of his NBA body.
I'm not making a judgment on who is better because I think as they mature there careers will both be successful but it also shows some fallacy in PER rewarding some players with no range.

On delusional fans do your remember the one on Pistons board

Playoffs this year contend Next:
Or the more recent we can still be top 3

Most Raptors fans wish you nothing but luck in a rebuild.

Raptor fan here. Yes, our board is utterly bipolar. Guys like DeRozan will miss a shot and 10+ posters will be calling for trading him or benching him immediately like he's the worst player in the NBA. We have a lot of younger posters, I guess, who don't really understand basketball. We have our dedicated haters who no matter what hate certain players. It seems you guys have more sense on average and actually go in on the players who deserve it like Jennings or Smith and ours hate the ones who don't deserve it like DeRozan or Valanciunas.

Good luck rebuilding as the years go by. Hopefully your next GM can get some value for Jennings and Smith and you build around Drummond effectively.

Chriscross wrote:My thoughts on your team:

- Drummond has such great potential to be dominant. I don't think anyone can stop him on the boards and his intimidating presence got the best of JV
- I like Siva, a nice backup PG for your team. Very quick and has decision making is solid
- Too much chucking from Jennings and more touches needed for Monroe and Drummond
- Why isn't KCP getting more PT? Wanted to see how he would perform against Ross

Good luck to your team the rest of the way

Thank you for the compliments.

95% of us agree with everything you just said.
