What I love about the first two episodes is how the Lannisters thought, "Oh hey man, we took out the last legitimate Stark threat right? It's all gravy..." but notice, when not confronted by an enemy that brings them altogether, the Lannisters get b*tchy with each other and how strategic to start the turmoil, finger pointing with one stroke. Unbelievable...

Meanwhile, there's no coincidence the camera flips to Camp Stannis. You can tell, the lord of light business is wearing on him. I did like the way he stood up to his rock salt crazy wife. "You shall not strike my child..."

Here's a walk through of the possible suspects and why they could be suspects (everything below has been already aired in the TV series so no need to spoiler it)..

Tyrion Lannister - he was ready to leave right before the pie came out...and right quick. If he didn't apply the poison could it be that he knew who did?

Sansa Stark - she was the last person to be "handle" the cup without anyone looking at it (when it fell under the table)...and clearly of anyone there, she would have the best reason for wanting the little bugger dead.

Dontos (the fool) Hollard - was odd that he would appear shortly after the poisoning almost forcing Sansa to leave the scene of the crime. He CLEARLY would have a motive for wanting Joffrey dead and he didn't seem all that surprised at the poisoning.

Oberyn Martell - he's basically (seriously) threatened the Lannister's three times already (once when they first arrived, once alone with Tyrion and lastly when he and his sister were having their "tit-for-tat" with Cersei and Tywin), has a short temper and is an expert killer it sounds like.

Margaery Tyrell - technically this was after the wedding so she is the "Queen Regent" of the land. I'm assuming that in the event the king (Joffery) dies, she has some controlling power?

Varys & Littlefinger - well we all know that these guys haven't gotten where they've gotten and kept it for having any qualms about killing people (and quite gruesomely in the case of how Varys offed one of his enemies). They operate when the "lords" that oversea them are stable. Joffrey is the anti-thesis of that. Varys especially sounded like he was concerned that his position may be in jeopardy by helping Tyrion.

Melisandre - the one true sorceress in Westeros? She would be able to do this without being anywhere near and obviously there's a benefit since Stannis Baratheon (whom she's been trying to get in power) is technically the rightful heir of the Iron Throne.

Loras & House Tyrell - it was odd that he winked and acknowledged Oberyn during the feast. As "nice" as House Tyrell has appeared to be (from Margaery, to the old Matriach Olenna, to the puppet patriarch Mace) my guess is that they are probably the last house in Westeros that you want to lower your guard down on.

Tywin Lannister - maybe the old bastard has decided "you know, screw all my kids...they're a bunch of screw-ups and dissapointments, I'm taking charge"?

The great thing about the show is that there's so many stories going on that they can't fit into one episode so it can never be one specific type of show. Even last night's episode was missing The Wall, Essos, and Arya and The Hound.

Yes.

Spoiler:
He'll look a bit different this season as he was recast again. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson is the new Mountain.

Did Ramsay say he did that?

But come on, last night alone was enough reason for everyone wanting Joffrey dead. He got married to someone hot that he didn't deserve, he got the other half of Ned Stark's sword as a present and named it Widow's Wail, he staged a horrible showing of the war, and he humiliated one of the best characters on the show.

Great list, but to correct you on Margaery. Since Joffrey and she did not have an heir, the right to the Throne passes on to King Robert's next son, Tommen.

Oh right. Forgot about the line of succession. The little bugger didn't get a change to knock her up?

Props to the actor that plays Joffrey, he did the role justice and really went out on an incredible display of utter scumbagness. They did a great job of showing a bunch of potential suspects, as you can see by there already being a few guesses. I also liked that they showed Theon's broken state with the Boltons and another Red Priest ritual. Stannis' wife (that's who that was supposed to be right?) dancing around and celebrating that nastiness was a really nice touch. The whole Stannis camp is an interesting setting. Can't tell really whether the Lord of Light is good or bad, whether the red priests are deluded or powerful and whether Melisandre is sincere or fake...You have Stannis who feels his destiny is to save the realm as a hero but in order to be that powerful he acts like a monster burning people alive. It's interesting for sure.

Also, book readers feel free to discuss the book in spoiler tags and the show freely. I'm losing patience with the "woe is me" nature and anyone who thinks a perceived spoiler is an excuse to insult others.

What I liked is the structure of the episode. It opened up with House Bolton and ended with Joeffery. This is th e only episode of the series that showcased the main antagonist houses, Bolton and Lannister, with all their respective strength gathered in their respective power bases. It's almost like a subtle passing of the torch of who you can hate now that joff is dead. The episode also did a great job of creating a power ranking of sorts in the aftermath of last season and season before: House Bolton in a position of strength, House Baratheon of Dragonstone very desperate, House Lannister suffered its first major setback, and House Tyrell finding itself with a widow to a murdered king for the second straight time.

He had enough power to slice Ned Stark's head off and start the war.

I thought Joffrey had gained a lot of power. His own Grandfather, The Hand, couldn't really control him any more. The Queen Regent, his mother, also had lost most, if not all control over him. Any sane person on The Small Council would have to be worried that Joffrey would do something really stupid at some point.

Oh wait, he did. He seems to have pissed off the wrong person :)
All in all he's just another prick with no wall

For those that want to know who killed Joffrey see my spoilers below...BE WARNED

Spoiler:
It was Grandma Tyrell and Littlefinger...They conspired together and killed Joffrey. They put poison in Sansa's necklace and were these aqua beads if you noticed (the same one Dontos gave her) and one bead was missing as when she came by to her she took it and must have dropped it into Joffrey's cup

Tyrion didn’t kill Joffrey — it was a setup. The real killer is Olenna Tyrell, or, more accurately, Littlefinger, by way of Olenna Tyrell. You didn’t forget about Littlefinger, did you?

Joffrey’s murder was an elaborate plan that began in the Season 4 premiere, when Ser Dontos reappears to give Sansa a necklace. Unbeknownst to Sansa, one of the jewels on the necklace is actually a vial of poison. No one knows this... except for Olenna Tyrell (and maybe Margaery, since she does not take a sip after Joffrey hands her the goblet).

During the wedding, Olenna approaches Sansa to apologize for the death of her family at the Red Wedding. During the scene, Olenna fondles Sansa’s necklace and discreetly palms one of the jewels, and in the next scene the jewel is missing from Sansa’s necklac. It’s subtle, but it’s definitely there (or, rather, not there). Olenna even foreshadows what she’s about to do, saying, “Killing a man at a wedding... horrid. What kind of monster would do something like that?” She’s a sly old bird.

So why did Olenna murder Joffrey? Because he’s awful, and would have abused her granddaughter. But why did Littlefinger set it up? Well, because he’s Littlefinger, and who knows why Littlefinger does anything?

That is how the game is played.
