Kobe not on Laker bench during last game in the Staple Cente

Post#1 » by dub81 » Mon Apr 14, 2014 3:30 pm

I was wondering what everybody opinion on Kobe at least not showing up to the last game of the Season. My opinion is he could of addressed the crowd giving us hope that next season would be better rather than Swaggy P who might not be a Laker next year.

He's already done that enough in the media this season and the result is always "Well if Kobe wanted to win he should have took less money" he's said enough. He needs to get prepared for next season and if anyone needs to say something about next season being better it needs to be the F.O..

He didn't have to speak but as a team captain and face of the franchise he should have been in the arena and appreciated the home fans for coming through a tough season. This has always been one of my issues with Kobe, as much as he has matured over the years, he still lacks some compassion and people skills for a leader.

I agree brother. He could of just showed up to support the team. Paul has Vertigo and he's still on the bench. Just my humble oppinion.

I think he was scheduled to make the annual appreciation speech to the crowd but for whatever reason didn't show up. Ended up being nick young making the speech.

He was but supposedly he missed it because he had a migraine.

Kobe Bryant did not address fans at Staples Center tonight. He missed his planned appearance due to a migraine.

I've always viewed Kobe as a "lead by example" guy, never a leader of men, more so just a great talent. So him not being there isn't that big of a deal IMO.

honestly, who really cares? Dude has put his entire adult life into the Lakers, and some of you are making him out to be some greedy traitor.

No one said anything about "traitor."

I appreciate everything Kobe has done for the Lakers, but a part of me is almost relieved knowing his time with the franchise is coming to a close soon. Dude has had great moments, but his personality is not appealing.

I don't see this as some piece of a greater puzzle... I just see it as a single lapse in judgment...

I think he thought it would be some big statement, but he doesn't seem to get that he's transparent as hell and we all know instantly why he did it...

Regardless, it was a bad call.
