Offseason plan
Step 1:
See where the lottery balls land
-(duh)
Step 2:
Identify potential picks draft choice
-(duh)
Step 3:
Package picks to trade up, draft at current positions, or package picks for trade
-(In many ways this will be the rookie year for Len and Goodwin. We simply won't have room for 3 or 4 rookies. Even 2 rookies would be stretching it. We may as well package the picks and trade up to get the best chance at drafting a player who we think can make an impact UNLESS we are confident that a gem or two will fall to our late first round picks.
or Step 3B:
Make a blockbuster trade for a star player involving our draft picks
Step 4:
Free agency
-Resign Bledsoe
-Resign Tucker
-Resign Barbosa

Lock Eric Bledsoe in a gym so he can work on his ball-handling and decision-making.
Lock Goran Dragic in a gym so he can shoot 1000 free throws a day.

Dragic improved his outside shot a lot this year, I am sure they considered it more important than the FT. Dont see why he could not fix it with some extra dedication.
Bledsoe will improve with experience.

Archie Goodwin gonna come into training camp killing it.

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.
Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Re: Offseason plan
Goodwin needs to put on about 8-12 pounds of muscle over the offseason, work on that jumper, and his passing skills. I already know he is gonna kill the summer league, but I hope he gets some meaningful minutes next season.

I think the Morris twins will be traded. They play so much better together and no way can you keep them after next year at a combined $12-15m per
My guess, they will be traded with a couple draft picks and maybe a guy like Archie or Plumlee if Ryan thinks Len is the long term fit at center.
I am okay if Frye opts out and doesn't return.
I want Tucker back though

It would be really nice if he could take Ish's role. That jumper really needs to be there next season. Without that outside threat, guys can pack the paint, making it quite difficult for both Goran and Bledsoe, whichever guy Goodwin will be matched up with when he gets minutes.

I hope we resign Frye, but I would rather he be the bench five. So that would mean a few things, either Plumlee gets traded along with picks to secure a starting four, who can stretch the floor but rebound much better than Frye, and Len would have to improve his game so much to take over that starting center spot. It will be an interesting offseason.

Re: Offseason plan
I think a team like OKC could REALLY use the Morris twins. Outside shooting and already proven commodities off the bench.
I'd be a little annoyed if it ended up something like Perkins' expiring next season + something (low pick/cash) for the Morri...
In saying that, I don't want to be on the hook for $7-$8m+ like I think Kieff will get, or $5m for Mook.
I'd offer Markieff the MLE (around $5m) for the next 3yrs, Mook $12m over 3.
Tucker is going to be very interesting. I'm not sure many teams rate him as high as we do, which is good. We might be able to retain him for something like $15m over 3-4, which I'd be fine with. Anything over the MLE and I'd pass...

I am dreaming bigger with the Morris Twins than just Perkins. I am thinking like the Twolves for Love if the Suns get the ping pong balls to include with that top 3 pick; or Greg Monroe in a sign and trade. Now if the Thunder want to dump Perkins and a number 1 for say Frye (if he opts in) and both are in the last year, that's fine.
I just look longer term, with Dragic getting an increase, draft picks, Bledsoe, the Suns cannot and should not keep all these guys. Build like the Spurs - find your few core better players and surround with role players. The Suns can be under the luxury tax and still be solid. One key is always having a # 1 pick. At least 3 out of four years. No more selling those off

See, I actually think Markieff is worth around 6-7m, but I think his brother's worth more like 1.5-2. That's a problem. There are a number of 3's in this draft I'd rather have taking Marcus's minutes.
I'm also starting to think Tucker may have to be let go if we draft a 3 with one of our mid-1sts; at least, we can't keep both him and Marcus. And if we draft a 4, we can't realistically keep both Frye and Markieff.
All that is to say, the progress of the twins has been great, but I fear we're not ideally situated with all this good but not great players. I think it makes sense to try to trade them. And if we're trying to trade up, I would say that everyone outside of Goran (and Bledsoe, but he's not under contract) is up for grabs.

Re: Offseason plan
Getting guys like Monroe seem like a good move until we see how little he spaces the floor for Goran and Bledsoe, unless the suggestion is to get a stretch center, or move Frye there.

Re: Offseason plan
The dream is Love but would take Hayward. The Suns are in a great spot; they have the right GM, they can be patient, they have cap space and draft picks. The Suns can use bird rights on Tucker and Bledsoe so if Sarver is willing to go over the cap but under the lux tax, they can do that.
It just means not everybody will be back.
I just know they need a guy that can score the ball in the last six minutes of the game that will make a defense focus on that person. Goran, Bledsoe and this player with other guys like Plumlee or Len, Tucker, Green, and draft picks. Along with veterans on one year deals to manage cap. Basically the SPurs model, means long term success.
Also means not selling draft picks but always have first rounders on the cheap to fill out your bench and hope with a four year contract, they can improve

Re: Offseason plan
hopefully Sarver realizes how many butts he can put in his seats by spending the money to improve the team, and lets McD do what he needs to do. If we don't resign Bledsoe the only acceptable reason is that we have sign-and-traded him somewhere else for somebody just as good.

Re: Offseason plan
I know that Plumlee and Len are youngs (26 and 21 respectivly at the beginning of the next season) and can improve this summer BUT I really think that we need an established good defender at center. Someone respected by the officials to bang around and agile enough to play our system.
Anderson Varejao can be a great addition if he is healthy. Good passer and knows how to play team defense...his pick and roll defense is outstanding. He will be an expiring at $9.7M, easy to get because probably Cleveland want Hawes and Zeller like their future centers.
Tyson Chandler,Omer Asick and Larry Sanders are other options...but worse options in general for a ton of reasons.

Sarver has never been afraid to spend money
More often than not, he spends too much and was spent very unwisely
But you are right - as long as he says Ryan, you have $X dollar budget for the next X years - and that is a key, Ryan needs to know a budget for three years down, five years down the road - the Suns will be fine if Sarver is just writing the checks, Ryan is making decisions and Jeff is coaching

Markieff has made an incredible progress this year...if he can improve a little more and plays starting minutes next year he can be a reliable third option on a good playoff team. I hope they will not be traded, they can be more than role players in this league.

I agree he made incredible progress but for the player that I want - and its a long shot. It will take talent to the other team and also talent that can improve as well. Kevin Love is not coming cheap. That's my dream. And for that dream, I think it takes the Morris twins, and picks.
