Since I'm french I keep an eye on him.
I like him a lot because he's the first french player since Tony Parker that I see has this "fire" in him. He's not playing that Diaw/Batum "all around, playmaker, 3&D ish" (I know I'm being pejorative but that's what they are though they are great players) when I thought they were actually the most natural gifted players we ever had...
He seems to still be a very inconstant player but I really like he never lose confidence and never seems to try to hide and not believing in his offensive game (something Batum never overcame).
So what you guys, that are watching him night in night out, think about him ? Will he be a Evan Turner caliber player or has he a chance to be a very good player in a NBA Championship caliber team ?

seems to me like he has the potential to be an allstar in this league needs to gain a little more muscle so he can finish at the rim a little better, and not foul so much, for as young as he is he is really a good player though. Next year I feel like he will make a big jump if he works at his game all summer. will be interesting to see how good he is in a couple years.

I would agree. I'm a big fan thus far and he has so much potential to grow into. I just hope management and the coaches give him a better chance to shine next year. If we bring in another guard via the draft, I would hope they would move Foye and move Fournier into the starting role. Zach LaVine is a very attractive pick in my mind in the draft and could push Fournier quite a bit. I just hope the two can co-exist and we aren't forced to move Evan, although worse could happen.

Re: So what about Evan ?
I honestly thought Fournier had a bit of a disappointing season. I was expecting him to prove himself as a legit starter by the end of the year but that didn't really happen. Maybe it's just a sophomore slump, but I don't feel like we saw much improvement from last year.
I do think he got better defensively though. If the refs ever decide to stop picking on him, I think he can be an above average defender.

I agree with you RRFB....maybe the coaching change stunted his growth a little. I wonder if they'll play him in the summer league.

im pretty happy with his (Fours) development so far...ideally i would have liked to see more but Coach Shaw had to take time to adjust, watch and adjust again. It's a long process but i think he'll make all star eventually.Overall..i believe expectations were way too high going into this season. I'm pretty sure I said it before the season started, that we would be going through one of those transitional years. I'm not down on a negative record, what i AM down on is a lack of effort. That showed too many times this season and especially tonight in our last game. It reflected the way we started the season and i don't think that was the right way to go out. granted, we pulled it together and got close but i expected more. The telling sign is, our bench could use some work in the off season..Brooks and Vesely have to go, we need to find someone to take hickson, Randolph and Q..i dont know there. Im hell positive about next year, having everyone back healthy and hungry..i have no doubt we'll be in the first round next year...barring injury of course

Statistically he did regress but I blame that on the new coaching style. Hi defense for a 2nd year player is passable, but he has the length to become an above average defender, something I'd like to see this year. Buying into what Shaw is preaching is the first step.
Offensively, he is definitely a slasher SG, I want to see a bit more development in his outside shot other than catch-and-shoot role. He's got 3pt range, just needs to be able to create his shot a little better. He also needs to work on his handle and passing, which are both pedestrian at best right now.
