Playoff basketball is all about coaching and defense. They have Thibs...we have Wittman.

Therefore...in which game will the Bulls win the series?

Wizard 4-2 or 4-3

I almost miscast my vote because the Wizards winning numbers where at the bottom and that through me off.

Wizards winning 4-2 is listed as CHI-WIZ 2-4

Bulls 4 to 1. I think we have too much of the "happy to be here" thing going on and coaching advantage for the Bulls is as big as it could possibly get. I just wonder if we'll lose a bunch of close games or will we get bitch smacked.

Wiz in 5. I see hard fought defensive games where bonehead plays will decide the game. We will make less of them. Game 5 will be a blowout win. Go Wiz!!!

In the past 30 games, the Wizards have a record of 19-11. That seems pretty good until you actually look at the schedule.

Of those 30 games, 14 of them were against legitimate teams, the other 16 were against horrifically bad teams who were either suffering major injuries or had already given up on the season. The list of horrific opponents include: Cleveland, Orlando, Philadelphia, Utah, Sacramento, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Los Angeles (Lakers), Boston and New York. A win against any of these teams is not significant feat, it is merely a statement that we are not grossly incompetent and that we are still trying.

Our collective record against this group of bottom-feeders is 14-1. Throw in the Miami game without Lebron and Bosh and we're 15-1 against crappy teams. That's good news. We have at least managed to beat the teams we're supposed to beat.

The bad news is that that means that our record against legitimate NBA teams is 4-10. We beat New Orleans, Toronto, Brooklyn and Indiana. (The New Orleans win was by 1 point; the Toronto win was in triple overtime.) We lost to Toronto, Memphis, Miami, Charlotte, Portland, Denver, Phoenix, Chicago, Charlotte and Chicago. Basically, any team with a pulse beats us.

Chicago has a pulse. If we don't play a lot better than we've played over the last third of this season, we are going to get beat.

FWIW, in the last 30 games, Chicago has played 17 "legitimate teams". Their record is 9-8. They're 12-1 against the dreck of the league.

I think they would beat us 4-2 on a neutral court, but with the nature of the home/away split, I think we lose in 5. They'll win the first 2, we'll win one of our home games, and they'll close it out in Chicago on Game 5.

And 20 of those 30 games where without Nene.

I would think the more accurate sampling would be with Nene and everyone healthy and with Miller, Gooden and AH.

Return to Washington Wizards
