I have in my sig:
Wiggins
Parker
Embiid
Exum

But I'm now torn between Exum and Embiid at 3/4.

Can't really go wrong now with any top 4 pick. I worry the most about Embiid. I don't want to be the Suns and take another Alex Len when the T wolves picked some 10 picks later and took the better player in Dieng. Ppl thinking that can't be Embiid vs another big in this class are kidding themselves. And this is no comparison to the players skill levels. This is a comparison to taking a player like Len or Embiid who is a project from day 1 and turns into an even bigger project halfway thru the year vs a player like Dieng who showed in much quicker fashion he will develop faster and probably end up a better player.

We can talk about pros and cons all day but my biggest fear of Embiid was the fact he came into Kansas as a bench player and total question mark. To me that's a huge red flag. He exceeded expectations but as quickly as he did that, he floundered away and hurt his back in the process.

Why is anyone really over confident Embiid becomes even relevant before age 25? Do we have 5 years to wait? No one can sit here and even worry about the same problem with Parker, Wiggins and even Exum to an extent.

For now I'm going with:

1. Wiggins
2. Embiid
3. Parker
4. Exum

I'm still waiting to see how Embiid's back checks out. If it's still iffy I'll move Parker ahead of Embiid, and if it checks out Embiid moves to #1.

I would also say it shakes out like this...

1. Embiid: Biggest boom / bust potential. Might also be the Tim Duncan-esque player that the Spurs model requires.

2. Wiggins: Potentially most marketable / athletic highlight reel guy.

3. Parker: Probably the safest pick. His floor seems the highest.

4. Exum: Still a fairly big unknown, but we've had good luck with foreign prospects. (Plus we'd give the aussies something to cheer for again!)

As a Jewish person myself I feel ashamed I don't know this answer  But, considering they would be Parker's boses I can't imagine it being an issue

If the Bucks want 1st hand info on Parker, they only have to drive to 12th and Wisconsin Ave. and talk to Coach Wojo.!

Firstly I don't think you could generally describe the relationship between these two faiths, I'm sure its as varied as any. Second, I'm sure Jabari's Mormonism will have no ultimate bearing on whether or not we draft him, just as I imagine Lasry's being Jewish doesn't influence most of his decisions. As was also true I believe of Kohl. It simply is a non-issue Swanny, IMO.

FWIW I think Melo has the ability to lead a team far deeper than he has. I think his stubbornness and do it myself attitude towards the game are what holds him back. You may see a change in the coming seasons with Jackson involved. It certainly worked for Jordan and Kobe. I think Parker is a very coachable player, and that's the primary difference between the two.

Looks like I'm the only one with:
Embiid
Exum
Parker
Wiggins

I don't claim to know anything about the Mormon faith outside of the South Park episode, but am I safe in assuming that they can take your mission at nearly any point in their life?

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

If you guys drop to 3-4, what are your thoughts on Smart? In my fantasy league I dropped to 4 for our 2014 draft, and am strongly considering Smart. He reminds me a lot of Lowry/Davis. I don't see him in the majority of your guys' lists, so I am wondering what your thoughts are on him. I personally like him better than Exum.

I guess I'm just trying to explore things from every angle. I'm more of a student of human nature than a stats guy. (Although I think stats are useful and should be part of the equation....go science!) We are emotional creatures and sometimes decisions...even (or especially) important ones often get made for irrational reasons. I'm trying to approach this thing like a psychologist would.

Mbah a Moute has probably poisoned Embiid's view of Milwaukee anyway.

Judging by previous draft threads here, most people have him in the 5-7 range, while a few might take him at 4.

I don't follow college b-ball and know nothing about the international scene. For better or worse (probably worse), the people around here drive my opinion on the draft. Except Embiid's back injury scares the hell out of me, I feel like this is Oden/Durant all over again.

Wiggins
Embiid
Exum
Parker

I won't be disappointed if we get Parker, but he's "just" Carmello Anthony to me, meaning we'd need an actual superstar/complete player next to him for him to be worth anything. Kind of like Big Dog needed Allen/Cassell.

I feel like Wiggins can be that all around superstar more so than anyone else in this draft.

Embiid
Parker
Exum
Wiggins or Smart

Justification: None. I just don't feel sold on Wiggins. But I'm not exactly know for my college basketball watching habits.
